Will Gus take on the cartel (spoiler alert)
If you have seen the clip from next weeks show, you will see that Gus and the cartel are in cahoots. Gus seems to have an agreement on territory he can operate in without incurring the cartels rash. He may pay tribute to the cartel for this priviledge, much like you would do in any other franchise operation. Now the cartel does not seem to pleased that Gus is operating with the man who was responsible for the death of Tuco. They want Walt dead. Gus is a cautious man, a careful man, but a man nonetheless. He is subject to all the same temptations we all are. He did business with Walt even though his better judgement probably told him not to. He did anyway because the lure of the riches he could obtain via Walt.
So if the cartel makes a move on Walt, I don't see Gus letting this happen. In return, Walt will be a prisoner to Gus. Another thing, is Gus thinking of going John Gotti? If he can make enough with Walt, he may be able to get the leverage needed to make a play for the cartel. Which would mean a serious gang war the likes of which NM has not seen. Does anyone else have any thoughts on this? How about Hank. If a major drug war broke out, Hank will be involved in it to be sure.
