Who's doing the Closed Caption for "Breaking Bad"?
While watching "Breaking Bad", a VERY adult program, I noticed that somebody has been playing censor. It seems like those who have good hearing are mature enough to hear mild swear words, yet those who are hearing impaired, aren't able to cope with reading those same words.
The most minor one was "pull his head out of his a--?" Those who could hear, heard the actual word "ass", but those who had to read the CC only saw the "a--". Are you kidding me? Does anyone think that someone who is reading the CC says to themselves "pull his head out of his A DASH DASH?" NO! They are saying the word ass, so why not put it up on the screen? The screenwriter wrote the words and the actors spoke them so they must have thought that it was important for the words to be heard or read.
Another one.... "Oh God." showed up as "Oh G--." I'll bet you if that was Pat Robertson saying that, they would have written "Oh God."
The last one; "...works like a bastard." Yep, you got it; "...works like a b------." Who are they protecting? Their great aunt Martha who's 75 years old and would NEVER watch a show like this? Give the viewers a little credit, we're adults and can handle a swear word or 2 or 3 or more. It's "Breaking Bad" not "Sesame Street".
