Br Ba is NOT Drama
This is Satire! Every episode ends in some kind of disaster or insanity. Usually with somebody dead by some outrageous means. Or, Jesse loses his money while screwing up. I laugh through every episode. And, poor Walter: in order to get out of an arguement with his wife he feigns a fugue state by walking naked through a supermarket. That's comedy.
Maybe Walt could use his chemistry to help his brother in law brew some beer. It might come out blue, but it will have a nice side effect like curing erectile disfunction as long as men are drunk off their asses.

I had to take a hiatus from writing my thoughts on here everyday, but I read your comment and was a bit flustered at the thought of you saying that this was not drama. Did you even watch Peek-a-boo? It was entirely nauseating and dramatic. Maybe I don't see eye to eye on your idea of satire, but I most assuredly know that this is a dark comedy; however, it is filled with some devastatingly dramatic moments.
Maybe you are not watching with your eyes open...
The satire is intentional...is it not? ;)
Bwa ha ha ha!
Hey, I've been slingin Mad volume and fat stackin Benjies. I dont got time for spellin N' Shit! Aaaack...
OMG R.W.!!! =D
You're so funny!!! You know how to make me laugh!!
I'd say BB is farce rather than satire.
Farce being a case of a situation going through an absurd and unlikely sequence of events before conclusion.
It's the farce element that frustrates me with BB, I like it but it is sometimes too extreme in the stupidity of Jessie and Walt.
Its definitely a drama. I think thats all that needs to be said.
Or how about a dramatic black comedy?
The subject matter is so bleak that there has to be some relief, and I am always thankful for the funny lines and situations when I see them. I don't find terminal cancer and human desperation terribly funny however, and I don't think the show is a comedy in the least. I think the genius of the show is the writers/actors ability to bring these two elements together so skillfully.
This is definitely a drama. However there are comedic moments, and satirical moments, and they are wonderful.
Yes, when Walt is standing in his underwear, with the gun to his head, and pulls the trigger but forgets to take the safety off, it's satirical, the man who always has everything planned downed to the letter screws up, it's funny too.
When Jesse's escaping from the first meth lab bust, and falls off the roof while trying to get his pants on, and finds his old chemistry teacher watching him = that's hilarious!
That the writers can plug these gems of dark humour into this gripping drama and pull it off just attests to their genius.
a "dark comedy" possibly
