Golden Globes
What's up with the Globes, absolutely no love at all for BB.

Dear Addict, Me being a BB fan since pretty much the beggining, has noticed a bit of a change because of this show. Programing has improved on the TV. There are actual show's other than sposed reality one's. We as a people have Breaking Bad to thank for that. Modern Family is not only funny but adept. Glee is fabulous and show's that one doesn't have to pay extra for provided one has an antenna. Drama's like The Good Wife turned out to be better than I expected. Don't have to pay for those perse. The Mentalist is fun, Simon Baker is very pretty, and the show is somewhat subversive since his character does the Houdini thing of disproving all of those people who get paid big bucks to take in rich suckers who are willing to pay to hear from their dead loved one's. The Law and Order franchises have done somewhat better? SVU hasn't in my opinion, to gorpy. It's just some bad writing there. The one show that was really snubbed was Pushing Daisies. That show was a work of art in all aspects. The perfect combo of Faerie Reality Tales. It was well acted, well performed, well sung, well written, funny, sad, had a plot and beautiful overall. Too expensive according to the powers that be at 30 Rock. So they had to put all of that money into Jay Leno being at 9pm.
What I truly hate in these modern days is having to pay for watching good shows via satilite or cable.
I resent virtually all of programing switching from analog to digital. All that accomplished was lack of access to the airwaves. Forced people into paying for information. Good thing that there is still free radio around. Prarie Home Companion, Click and Clack, and all of the other NPR programs.
I agree, TheAddict. I'm STEAMED that Breaking Bad was shafted as a GG Nominee. While I'm very happy that Bryan received a SAG nomination for best actor (as well he deserves it, with his tour-de-force performance), I thought BB is good, or BETTER than Mad Men, and the other shows nominated. While I LOVE Mad Men, I consider myself an AMC addict now. Perhaps the story is too raw and the acting is so close to the bone, it makes the status quo uncomfortable?
I just don't get it.
Me too, Stagekiss - Furiously love both Breaking Bad and Mad Men. I'm glad that at least MM gets in at the Globes, but it doesn't quite cover up my disappointment over the Breaking Bad snub. These people both in front and behind the camera do spectacular work, and I don't understand how that doesn't even get them in as a nominee. I'm not even going to start about the fact that Bryan gives the performance of a lifetime, yet not everybody seems to notice.
Stagekiss, I think you are right...It's too edgy for some people, and too bold.
The best show on TV didn't even get nominated. Is it because AMC spends all their money promoting Mad Men which is getting to be one of the most static shows on TV? The characters are stiffer than the starch in their shirts. Was it because of release dates of the new season (or the 2009 season) of BB? I want this show seen. If it is canceled, what's left to watch - reruns of Jersey Shore or one of the Real Housewife franchises? Can you tell I'm pissed?
Add me to the list of "what's wrong with people"!! AMC should put more publicity in Breaking Bad - all their attention goes into MM. Byran Cranston was not even interviewed when he won a Emmy for BB!!!!!!!!!!
Breaking Bad is the best written show on television and needs to get the attention it deserves.
come on people - get with it.
It could be, although it has a very particular kind of fabric and design that doesn't seem to fit London Fog.
