Breaking Bad Goofs

Have you found any goofs made during the filming of Breaking Bad? I've only been able to find one or two so far and it took me a while.

1) The signed Eric Clapton Fender Stratocaster given to Elliot Schwartz is actually a Mexican Fender (you can tell from the headstock) and Clapton only used American Stratocasters.

2) When they make thermite to burn the lock off the chemical supply door, they never show them using an ignition source such as magnesium ribbon. If they used the propane torch, it'd probably explode instead of melting the lock. (questionable goof)

I don't know if you can quite consider this a goof, but has anyone else ever noticed that R.J. Mitte flips off the camera in Season 2 Episode 9 "4 Days Out" When they give Walter the news that he is in remission. Walter Jr. hugs him with a middle finger towards the camera lol.

HEH, I never noticed that until now. I have no idea if that's a goof or not, but it's hilarious. I wonder if he did that on purpose, it is totally obvious what he is doing... :)

I don't tape every episode, but when that one aired the second time, I taped the last few minutes, because I've always been so fascinated by that scene of Walt smashing his hand against the paper towel rack in the Men's Room.

So I just looked back at that part you mentioned, Borito1, and.....you're absolutely right! This is very, very interesting. Why haven't we hashed all this over exhaustively, as we've done so many other scenes? I think R.J. must have been directed to do that, so it must indicate some very mixed, if not downright hostile feelings Walt, Jr. has for his father!

Discuss, avid viewers!!!!

The best part is, the middle finger got by the censors... Another reason why this show breaks bad...

Hey Borito1, you got your episodes mixed up. The finger scene is in Season 2, Episode 16.

However, since Season One had seven episodes if you subtract seven from sixteen, you get nine. But that is not how AMC is counting them.

There was no Season 2, Episode 16. It was in Season 2, Episode 9. No one refers to the episodes on AMC as "Episode xx".

re: thermite ignition

A mapp gas torch is hot enough to ignite thermite. I once used a road flare as it is plenty hot enough. Thermite burns at an extreme temp but it is a slow burn. I did this as a experiment and burned through an old engine block in my back yard. A small amount burned all the way through to the ground. I don't suggest just anyone trying this experiment. If it were to get on a persons arm it would burn through before anyone could do anything about it.

a lot of times TV shows or the news will purposely do things wrong so they are not teaching everyone how to do crimes. I remember a car bombing in America where the new mentioned Ammonia Nitrate being mixed with Diesel Fuel as a bomb. The truth is u would need a different fuel but the news would not want to teach everyone how to make a bomb out of things that are easy to get.

Yes, Rockmama...why haven't you and I seen that finger scene with all the postings we ranted of? And why didn't R.W. catch that one???...he is such a sticker for details! :))))

Okay, so which episode has this gesture???

Great question Jenetik!

Family members of a cancer patient do have anger issues with the one that has cancer...anger being a very typical reaction, so I am not surprised at Walt Jr.'s reaction and the finger gesture. In the first Season, Walt Jr. makes several comments about his father's illness in a very nasty tone when he finds out Walt has cancer.
