Talk: Breaking Bad: October 2009
Ausiellofiles.ew.com reports:
"... David Costabile is joining the AMC drama as Walt's (Bryan Cranston) new assistant, Gale.
Described as an eager student and a brilliant chemist, Gale is the antithesis of Jessie (Aaron Paul) in that he's more interested in the magic of chemistry than getting rich.
Costabile's casting isn't necessarily confirmation that Jessie will go rogue in season 3. But given the mounting tension between mentor and protégé, it's certainly plausible"
..
.... So what does/will this do, to the dynamic that is Jessie and Walt? What will Skyler think of Walter's new "assistant?"
..and what will Hank have to say about the new, influence?

Have you found any goofs made during the filming of Breaking Bad? I've only been able to find one or two so far and it took me a while.
1) The signed Eric Clapton Fender Stratocaster given to Elliot Schwartz is actually a Mexican Fender (you can tell from the headstock) and Clapton only used American Stratocasters.
2) When they make thermite to burn the lock off the chemical supply door, they never show them using an ignition source such as magnesium ribbon. If they used the propane torch, it'd probably explode instead of melting the lock. (questionable goof)

At the beginning of Season 2, Episode 5, two Mexicans are swimming across the Rio Grande river and one of them stumbles upon Tuco's grillz encased in the cube that Hank threw tossed away. What is the significance of this and why is it important? The cartel would certainly find out that Tuco is dead is my assumption, but what ramifications could there possibly be?

I'd love to find out why AMC's marketingdepartment insists on hiding Breaking Bad and not capitalizing on BC's emmy win. This is a terrific show yet, Season 2 reruns are shown only ONCE a week (at midnight, no less). Why not do a BB marathon, advertise the hell out of it, and gain a whole bunch of new viewers?? This is the most secretive show on television - ratings and viewership could easily double if only AMC put a little promotion behind it. Frankly, i'm stumped!

I'm so obsessed with this show that I want to be an extra or anything associated with Breaking Bad.. I see you can win a Video Contest to do it, but I'd rather make my mark by posting in this forum and show I am a well-educated fan who knows the chemistry and the business. :)
Can you hook me up Clayton? I'm FIDC insured yo!

I was wondering if Aaron's tattoo on his hand real? It sorta looks like Brad Pitt's in the Oceans trilogy? Thanks.

The past two "seasons" have only been 7-8 episodes supposedly due to the writer's strike and now it's mid-October and we are waiting for season 3! What the Eff?

The Black Seeds from Wellington, New Zealand are awesome. Their song "One By One" is playing in the desert cook marathon. Then later, when Jesse and Jane get his money, they decide to go to NZ so she can be a tattoo artist and he can draw all the castles.(???) I guess he thinks there are medieval castles there because Lord of the rings was filmed there. HA HA. Anyway, the lyrics of the song say".....go on and take me on". Then Jane dies. Just kind of a weird tie in, I thought.

Holy Cow Jumpin Over the Moon!! What a day!
Then the world actually likes us! Yeesh! Here I was not liking the million's of dollars being spent to bomb the moon to find water, but watched it anyway. I'm a geek, its true. But then just after the announcement that our president won the Nobel Peace Prize? I got breathless and really, screamed with this day. I know some will say that this topic has nothing to do with this show, but they would be wrong. Bombing the moon is science, and the Nobel prize's are all about science. Oh, my! Anyone else have anything to contribute?

What are your favorite quotes from the show? I love these three lines and they aren't from any of the main actors...
1) It's FIDC insured yo! - Spooge
2) This way to savings, save your dollar bills yo! - Badger
3) I'm gonna keep a happy thought and assume this is just a negotiation tactic! - Saul

As a punishment from the gods for his trickery, Sisyphus was compelled to roll a huge rock up a steep hill, but before he could reach the top of the hill, the rock would always roll back down again, forcing him to begin again.[2] The maddening nature of the punishment was reserved for Sisyphus due to his hubristic belief that his cleverness surpassed that of Zeus.

As a plot line for Season 3, what if Skylar's boss is busted by the IRS and she is accused of stealing the missing money? The IRS would search her house and find Walt's money. They would take it and Walt would be back to square one.

If Vince and his writing staff ends the "dynamic duo" of Walt and Jessie in some tragic fate of death in Season 3, who would Vince focus as a main characterization(s) for the series? Would "Breaking Bad" be able to carry on successfully if Walt and Jessie are out of the series?
