Has "Breaking Bad" spoiled us for other shows?

I've been watching "Grey's Anatomy" for a few years, and was looking forward to this season's premiere last night. It was 2 hours long, but after less than an hour, I was really bored. It all seemed so trite, slow, and just...a waste of time. Thinking about it today, I realized why I felt this way. I've been spoiled by "Breaking Bad" - the realism, the unexpected twists and turns, the insights into character, the questions it raises, everything! Such a great show. But what do I do til Season 3?!?!?!?

rockmama - I feel your pain. This is the only show that I have watched with any regularity in the last couple years, outside of any occasional viewing of House. In November AMC will be showing a remake of the 1960's classic "The Prisoner". Yes that's right Clayton I'm plugging the Prisoner for AMC. I'm hoping that it will be worth watching, I'm a die hard fan of the Original, so AMC has its work cut out for it. This new remake might be worth while for other Breaking Bad fans to check out. The Original show was like Breaking Bad in a way, very original and kept you in anticipation for next weeks show.

Rockmama&RW- It is good to know that somebody else understands. It has been fifty years since I was hooked on a show. These people have created a show that is like a drug. I dont watch televisiion much(except sports), and hate being on the computer Thanks for the tip on the Prisoner.

Rockmama& RW- Also your comments to Skinny Pete showed (in my opinion) that you both posess great insight into acting and roles. It will be interesting to see how they use him next season.

I hope the remake of the "Prisoner" doesn't insult the classic original "Prisoner" . So far, most remakes of a classic film or series are so lame and not worth watching. Possibly AMC will have the finesse to do it "right"with this series. I clearly remember being hooked watching the original "Prisoner" many years ago and knew that series was ahead of its time and had many emotional and intellectual levels that sometimes, one had to watch it several times to get all of what each episode presented. Breaking Bad is very similar in that respect..thought provoking and entertaining at the same time.

I commisersate with your anxiety too, Rockmama, R.W. and regugnant of not seeing the next Season 3 and think AMC needs to at least release Season 2 in DVD form to stave off our hunger for the series. How about a petition, signed by all screen names and sent to Clayton??? LOL Suppose that might get some attention to the staff at AMC proving viewers are becoming antsy, despondent, and raving mad without our wonderful series???? Geesh, what the devil does it take to wake AMC to our painful withdrawals????
