There was a scene in last night's encore showing of the episode, "Bit By a Dead Bee," that I didn't remember from the first time around. It's near the end, after Walt has gotten out of the hospital and he and Skyler are getting ready for bed. Walt puts on the
"Heisenberg hat," takes off his robe. amd jokingly asks Skyler if she needs anything from the convenience store ("A Big Gulp? Slim Jim?") It's a
cute scene, and Walt is obviously trying to defuse the tension that had been caused by his disappearnace.
But if confused me a little, because I had always associated that hat with Heisenberg; thought he wore the hat to get into the bad guy character, and that the hat had no place in Walt's life other than that. So, I'm wondering why the hat in that scene? And how much control does Walt even have over his Heisenberg alter ego?

Doesn't anyone else think that Raymond Cruz should have been nominated for a recurring or guest role as TUCO on BB? Also the dud who plays his uncle (sorry don't recall his name) . Some of the best acting I've seen on the small tube in years.

PLEASE AMC!!! Release BB on Blu-ray. With Walmart now selling blu-ray players for a mere $98, I have little doubt that this holiday season will see a huge boom in new blu-ray users.
I just saw on Amazon.com that BB season 2 will be coming out soon, but no blu-ray?!?!
I keep holding out on buying the dvds, hoping AMC will come out with a blu-ray version.

At the end of Season 2, three characters, Donald Margolis, Jesse Pinkman, and Walt White, lost their "girls", and their ensuing behavior and actions resulted in some pretty horrific consequences, personally and publicly.
Donald caused a plane crash; Jesse self-destructed into a heroin free fall, and Walt did......?
How do you think Walt feels about the loss of Skyler and Holly? I really can't imagine how Walt will react to this loss or what actions he will take next season to get them back. This is Walt's first real personal loss since the series started, so would love to read what you think he'll do.

If any body has a copy of the April 1999 issue of Swank, Check it out. If that is not Krysten Ritter, then it's her double. She is listed as Corrine in this issue. If you have it check it out, and reply with a post. Also, does anyone know if she is related to John Ritter? Thanks.

Has anyone else noticed in this series, there isn't any animals, such as a dog, a cat, a bird, a gerbil, hamster or a pet snake as a family pet, but we do see insects. Jessie plays with a black beetle on the sidewalk in one episode, and another episode the camera focuses a snail crawling on top of a stucco wall. Even the DEA doesn't use a drug sniffing dog in this series. Street scenes with neighborhoods of children, still no animals are present. Is there some significance of the lack of animals in this series with the only exception of the turtle scene?

I recently started watching Breaking Bad and it has become my favorite show due to the incredible writing and acting. I'm confused as to why AMC is restricting itself to repeating Season 2 episodes to just one time per week??? If the goal is to draw in more viewers, why not repeat each episode several times during the week? After all, each episode of Mad Men is repeated several times during the week...why not do the same with Breaking Bad??? AMC has the most incredible show on tv and it is blowing an incredible chance to make it more popular by practically keeping it a secret!

Last Sunday's episode was great, but next Sunday's "Bit by a Dead Bee" is my favorite. When Walt is in the hospital, he is denied release until he can convince a psychotherapist he is sane. He makes a wonderful speech and really sums up the entire show. At the end of his speech, he asks "..and you ask me why I ran away?" You could replace "ran away" with "breaking bad" and replace the psychotherapist with a judge and have the closing scene of the series. Just a great scene!!! Great writing and great acting by Bryan Cranston. Watch this scene and see if you don't agree.

Hank has shown he is nothing like the person he pretends to be. He is a man plagued by self doubt and self loathing. He is a gas bag and a phoney. He became physically ill when his co workers gave him Tuco's grill, (very inappropriate gift in my opinion). He has panic attacks and he can't even speak Spanish. How can you live in New Mexico and not speak Spanish. I was born in Amarillo and hell I speak Spanish. Hank is a bumbling, stumbling fat sack of doughnut batter. So, how can he bring our hero down? It just would not be right if this nobody of a bum, disgrace to his badge, was allowed to capture Walt. I don't see Hank as a real player in Season three.

When Walter installs an on demand hot water heater in his house, he is very excited and describes it to Walt Jr. as having an "unlimited supply." This deceleration struck me as being very revealing. He is excited because he can provide for his family like never before, but there must also be a double meaning. Does he mean there is an unlimited supply of money for projects like this, or does he mean there is an unlimited supply of daring and bravado coming from him or is there to be an unlimited supply of meth. Or, is this a case where hot water is really just hot water?

Lots of thought here put into Possible Post Partum depression and weight gain. Me knowing lots of women who've gained 50 to 90lbs being pregnant, Don't you think that Skylar being so skinny during her pregnancy deserves to be tortured with a wee bit of post partem depression, smoke some pot, a couple of cigs and eat some Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia or New York Super Fudge Chunk and gain a kilo or ten?
Shoot, she got immediatly thinner than she already was. Haggen Daus Rum Raisin? Some good Grape Ape Fudge Brownie's?

I know this may seem a little nit-picky but I was watching the videos here on the site and heard a lot about Vince Gilligan's relentless attention to detail, so I thought I'd bring this up.
I was a meth addict for many years. And every meth addict, that smokes it, knows that good quality meth produces an enormous amount of smoke when you exhale it. I mean huge thick clouds of smoke that seem to bellow from the lungs. It's common knowledge in the meth community that high quality dope does this, whereas the more it's cut, the less it smokes. Good dope also very rarely makes you cough, whereas cut always makes you cough.
So I guess the point I'm trying to make is that it seems to tell a conflicting story when everyone is talking about it being the best product ever cooked up, but when we see people smoking it, it looks as if they just got "woo'ed".

Someone need's to let the writers know that in NM, we don't say "Take THE 25 " or refer to the interstate as "THE 40"; that is how they do it in CA. Here, its just I 40 or I 25. Leave the THE in CA. Little thing, but hey, maybe someone will see this and pass the word along.

My last thread is starting to get a little overheated, so I'm going to try again with a new one. Walter White is Starting Season 3 in an unbalanced state. He has watched his Woman leave him, took Holly and bailed. His accident prone partner Jesse is recovering and out of action. Walt is left with a pile of Money and his head spinning poolside and now a mid air Plane accident occurs right over his House. Things are not working out very well for him are they? - So I have selected 3 Songs that I think are fitting to reflect Walt's current station in life at this point in our Favorite Show. My first selection is from ACDC - "Ride on", its a quiet little number, very introspective and Bon Scott delivers it beautifully. My next selection is also from ACDC - "Highway to Hell". We now turn up the Amperage a little bit. Walt might just travel down this Highway someday. Again Bon Scott belts out a fine performance! My third and final selection is a Classic Jimi Hendrix song - "Hey Joe". This little gem gets modified though. We use Walt's name in place of Joe and also add Ted's name. Here it is - "Hey Walt where you going with that gun in your hand?" ---- "I'm going down to shoot my Ol' Lady, you know I caught her messin round with a man named Ted". Ok, there you go, that's my play list. So tell me now, whats on yours?

Ok, Since we are on the subject of Skyler and her future. Here something to ponder. If Walt and Sky do part ways, do they end up in Judge Judy's Divorce Court? I have my own theories on how this might play out, but would like to hear some other idea's.

Walt has got to crash up against a strong female character to advance the story. My first choice is Skyler. I think Anna Gunn could hit a home run in Season 3, but if it isn't to be, then bring on Carmen. She's got an ass like an onion... makes me want to cry! (- Hank) There's lots of potential in Carmen prompting Skyler if Walt becomes involved. Now that another woman wants Walt and depending on Skyler's developments with Ted, she may change her mind and fight for her husband out raw jealousy and feminine pride. Ooooooh, cat-fight! Scratch her eyes out! Kick her in the ... well, you know where. Walt's got the big bucks now. He could be a "player".

My take on the finale. The plane isdefinitely symbolic and I think that has been talked about. It represents the collision, death, injury of the main characters and the peole their lives touch.
Did you notice the shot from the bottom of the pool that had both the bear and Walt in it? Walt has an uncharacteristic pink sweater that was very close to the color of the bear. That was Vince and the writers tellin you the bear symbolized Walt.
What has happened to the bear? It was ejected from the plane, and Walt has been ejected from his marriage. The bear is also burned - Walt has been damaged by the events.
What does the bear remind you of? As a childs toy I see it as innocence, or times of innocence, possibly decency.
Now, how about the bear eye floating in the pool and going down the drain? Could it represent lost sight? What has Walt lost sight of? That his family is the most important thing to him. His morality?
So Walt has been ejected from his family, lost sight of his innocence and his sense of moral deceny, and is damaged.
That is it for now.

Too many people are judging Walt as evil just because he didn't do something heroic (and stupid) like saving Junkie Jane. Did none of you notice the tears running down his face when it finally dawned on him that she was dead? Don't you know that he understood that this very awful fate could happen to his own daughter, Holly, 17 years in the future? Try this. You go to the doctor and he tells you the clock is ticking and you're going to die a slow and painful death in a limited amount of time. You've got skill(s). Maybe you know how to rob a bank, or there are people who've done you wrong and if they were dead it would make the world a brighter and happier place, or you know how to make copious amounts of illegal drugs. Or you join the Sheriff's Auxiliary to find out who the drug dealers in your community are and decide to off them to clean things up for the common good. What is worth your life? Go ahead and stand in Walt's shoes with your insides rotting out and tell me what would you trade your life for. (People who have seen the Japanese movie "Ikiru" by Kirosawa can't steal that plot). Look! If you don't have a cause, that's okay. Most people just wait for the end anyway. Give me a cash buy-out. How many dollars is your carcass worth? Let me write you a check and then the lights go out. Maybe Walt doesn't seem so "evil" now...

You can name which Season (I think there will be five seasons before it ends). You can name the character who uncovers Walt's criminality, but you have to explain how and why. No fish-heads here. I want gills, fins and a tail. Give an explanation. Write a story if you have to. They aren't charging you by the word here. I really want to know who brings Walt down, when, how and why.
Bonus question: Does Walt ever go to jail? No explanations needed for this. You can cough up a "yes", "no" or "maybe so".

Uh. has anyone else thought that the Ladie's AKA Women in this show have been gettin some pretty bad raps? Everyone LOVE's Walt who's killed a few people,But hate's Skylar. Many love Hank, but tweeks on Marie. And for poor, poor little Jesse, many think that Jane deserved her death cause she was leading him on a herion path in combo with the meth path? Has anyone considered that Jane would have continued on her sobriety path if it warn't for Jesse? The only girl who's considered an innocent and not loathed is Holly.

Clayton Neuman has previously posted a few weeks ago a term whom he calls Walt's "survival mode" to justify his heinous actions of Season 1 and Season 2. 'We fully understand and sympathize Walt's survival mode for his past actions of struggling for remission of cancer and saving his family from financial ruin. We have seen Walt endure the impossible odds and beat those odds in his own terms and damning his soul in the process. So far, in the series, Walt still has a good percentage of the viewers still sympathizing his actions.
In Seasons #1 and # 2 , other characterizations besides Walt, also have their own personal reasons for their "survival mode", but are their reasons as valid and justifiable for breaking the rules as Walt? Is the "Survival Mode" valid for all crimes or not? Where do we draw the line and say we won't accept and tolerate the "survival mode" as an valid reason.
