Is Vince Gilligan a fan of "The Who"?

I have to give credit to Walkercolt for this one. After reading a comment he left on a previous thread about whether Vince Gilligan was a fan of the Rock Band "The Who", I beleive he is. I love the music of "The Who", grew up listening to it. When I started thinking about this question more, it Clicked. I look at the Character of Jesse and see Jimmy from "Quadrophenia". The Baggy coats and all, awkward, never quite fitting in. I can see Jesse now riding that Vespa Motor scooter with all the chrome and mirrors. Like Jimmy from Quadrophenia, Jesse is all F'ed up on Drugs and living aimlessly for today. And if I were going to assign a theme song from Quadrophenia to Jesse it would have to be "I'm one".

Shouldn't Season 3 be Anna Gunn's chance to shine as an actress?

Without taking anything away from the Walt and Jesse drama, Skyler is pissed and about ready to divorce Walt. She's almost got the goods on Walt and she's chasing Ted as a consolation prize. The potential for a "battle of the sexes" and all that conflict is locked and loaded at the finale of Season 2. Also, I think highly of Anna Gunn and would like to see her nominated for an Emmy after Season 3. Not to sound politically correct here (because I'm not!), but I think the series needs its women to become powerful forces in the stories without infringing on the main plot and premise. I mean, how will we ever really know Walter Hartwell White, unless he's forced to deal with a challenging woman?

The Plane Crash, Hidden Money and the Garage

Even with the distraction of some very nice summer days, a disturbing thought popped up about the ABQ episode - the money stashed in the garage walls.

Throughout the season, the ever expanding teasers showed different scenes of the plane crash over Albuquerque and Walt's house. In one of those teasers they showed HazMat people around Walt's property. Doesn't this put Walt's secret stash in the garage in jeopardy of discovery? Wouldn't the HazMat people comb throughout the property and home to make sure there are no toxic fallout/chemicals from the crash (i.e., scouring the home thoroughly to make sure it's free of hazardous chemicals/materials)?

Walt's drug money could be discovered, don't you think? What would (or could) Walt do or say to keep the people out?

Malcolm in the Middle

Oh how I would love to see Frankie Munez do a cameo in Breaking Bad with some interaction with Bryans character. (writers - hint, hint)

Peek-a-boo theme?

I noticed that the winning entry for the recent "Win a Hoodie" sweepstakes mentioned Walt playing peek-a-boo with baby Holly. I hadn't remembered that specifically, but it does recall the famous episode this season titled "Peek-a-boo," where Jesse played the game with the little red-haired boy. "Peek-a-boo" turning up twice seems to indicate a theme. My theory is that "peek-a-boo," often played between an adult and a child, represents trust. The child comes to realize that when the scary person removes their hands and shows their face, it's going to be the person they've come to trust. This person isn't going to suddenly scare them with a whole new persona who may actually hurt them. This seems to be a central issue in the show - Walt vs. Heisenberg, etc. At what point has a person crossed the line and betrayed the trust of their famiy, friends, the world, by turning into that scary person? I would welcome discussion on whether I'm on the right track or not, any other "peek-a-boo" type scenes in the show, etc.

Where can I find a certain clip?

I would love to get a clip of that flashback scene where Walt and Gretchen are in the classroom, discussing the composition of the elements of the human body, and they find there is a small percentage missing, which they conclude is the soul.

I have an ancient computer; connecting to links takes forever, so if someone could be so kind as to send me the URL (if one exists) I would be eternally grateful.

Which characters do you think you are most like?

Me personally, its between two. Marie and Saul. Both characters talk a very good line of BS, but both have hearts in their own rites. I'll stop at this. Everyone can put their own details be they male or female to all characters.

Song Parody's

Are we not doing them anymore? I can't accept that. Well I spose I can, but who wants too? Its all in fun. Its summer. A fabulous thing out here in the wiscoland. The home of Summerfest, the biggest music festival in the entire whole world! I'm throwing down the gauntlet to all of you to come up with your best parody's to your favorite tune's relating to BB. There's lots of good music to parodied out there. Lets see, Mitch Miller would be fun. Flipper,Uk subs, Todd Rundgren, X, Legendary Pink Dots, oops forget them, I forgot they basically have no lyrics. But you all know where I'm coming from. Freebird perhaps?

Apt Pupil

Anyone remember this crazy old story by Stephen King? It's a novella that was published in "Different Seasons" in 1982, and then it was made into a movie in 1998. It's one of his non-supernatural stories, so it's more of a thriller/drama instead of a horror story. In the movie, the old man is played by the same guy who played Gandalf in Lord of the Rings.

It's one of my favorites, and I just realized how many similarities there are in its basic plot compared to that of Breaking Bad. It's almost uncanny, albeit "Apt Pupil" is quite a bit darker in tone. I was wondering if anyone else had noticed this.

Q. What do Season 3, Real Estate, Crystal Meth and a 3 piece takeout Chicken dinner have in common?

A. Location, Location, Location. - I have a Theory regarding next Season, it has all 4 elements listed above. Here goes, this last Season 2, Hank received reports from some DEA Field Agents in neighboring Southwestern States (Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Colorado) about the Blue Meth turning up in some of their cities. I have a feeling Hank will be sent on some road trips to visit and do some Liaison work with some of these Fellow DEA Field Agents. Along the way, Hank will be put in the local Best Western Hotel or a Budget Inn during some of these stops, after a full days Liaison work, Hank drops into a local Pollos Hermanos for some of that tasty Golden Bird. At this point Hank is just thinking about something to eat and then hitting the rake, before he travels onto his next destination the next morning. Now what are the chances that Hank will run into a Pollos Hermanos at his next destination on his work related road trip? Will Hank think there is any significance to this or is it just a coincidence? Might Hank have a chance encounter with Gus along his travels or at one of these Pollos Hermanos? This has got me wondering, how about you?
