Will Season #3 be the last season for Breaking Bad????

Season #3 brings a quandary of Breaking Bad possibly ending at Season#3 or will Vince and his cagey staff find more to continue into Season#4? Just how evil can Walt turn that darker side of his nature and what other possible character(s) in this series will take break out of their character and surprise all of us???? Is Vince able to wrap this series with a pretty scarlet sinful bow and wipe out all our predictions? Will the series go out like a thousand explosions of each character or go out like a whimper with a soft repentant ending??? "Breaking Bad" is at trial, what say you the jury of the plight of Breaking bad....Ending at Season #3 or Season #4?

I think they can go on indefinitely. Right when a great show ends and I think a new one wont come along, another pops up.

Everything works in it: the cast, the setting in New Mexico and the story. The really wild twists and turns made me slightly skeptical if they could pull it off, some of them are really out there --- but Im hooked now and the really over-the-top twists don't bother me at all now.

I totally disagree with some posters that this seasons finale didnt work. It was great and perfect as the finale. It created a lot of new story paths and left a lot of things in the air, which keep you on the edge waiting for next season. The fact some people say the initial premise was that he was dying and so he cant go on for more than 2-3 seasons, nonsense. With a remission/cure and the willingness
of the producers to accept radical twists, the series is kept fresh and can go for many years to come.

I can see almost anything happening. Perhaps the wife dying, and his son discovering the operation later and joining in. Or the wife could divorce him and marry the guy she works for with continued tensions between the former couple. Or the DEA brother-in-law finding out later and either covering for him or even joining in after a really tension filled cat-and-mouse series of episodes in which he finally discovers the identity of Heisenberg.

A funny twist would be the wife having an affair or marrying her boss, all while snarling at Cranston and the possible dark activities he may be involved in and then having her and her boss, going to jail for tax evasion with scenes of Cranton visiting her in prison.

They could also have Cranton pouring his drug money into a legit biz like El Pollo Loco and becoming a small scale mogul, friendly with the other mogul/drug lord and hobnobbing with his old filthy rich friends. You could keep pushing the theme about how everyone ultimately is corrupt, how everything is gray in real life --- forever, with all kinds of twists and turns. Will the feds and the IRS come after him? What about some Asian, Sicilian or Russian Mafia? Or will he , after prospering with his drug money poured into a legit small chain of businesses --- suddenly find himself investing in high tech and end up as rivals of his old friends? And then theres the whole world of white collar crime that could open up in that storyline.

Vince Gilligan already said that 4 seasons is what he has in his head but, I bet they go 5.

Let's wait until season 3 actually starts filming before we speculate on seasons 4 and 5.

The Screen Actors Guild is still negotiating something and there has been a delay in the filming of season 3. If they don't reach an agreement I will be so pissed. This is a wonderful show. I hate unions.

While I would love this show to go on forever I prefer that it continue only as long as the story stays fresh, crisp and meaningful. I would rather have 3 great seasons than 4 or 5 mediocre. Whenever they do decide to wrap it all up I hope we are left with the answers we need, but still yearning for more.

like the show...it's all about money...how long they go depends alot on how many people are watching...around season three/four...the cast and writers should really start to click...then it should be on cruise control for a couple of seasons before things start to wind down...so I've got to think that we are looking at maybe six good seasons with some of the seasons going for more episodes with the last season being season seven or eight...how much time do you think has gone by in the two seasons...how many months pregnant was Skyler when it started...

I hope not, Its one of the Best shows on TV. I mean we all have to wait now for several months for our BB Team to produce some more product for use to consume. Just the Burnout factor dose not set in, so we can look forward to more quality episodes. 3 to 4, maybe 5 Seasons if we're lucky sounds about right.

if Weeds can last 5 seasons then Breaking Bad can.

Breaking Bad will have a difficult time ending this series as soooo many fans are so entranced by the genius writing of Vince and his sfaff. I am not sure all will agree as to the ending as the series has such a great potential of continuing for quite a long time. Whatever, they decide, its going to have to be a consequential ending with such magnitude to warrant the entire series!

i'm satisfied, haha, i thought the finale worked perfectly, if they ended the show there I would be happy, haha, maybe not, but it did some up the 2nd season really well=PURE TRAGEDY
I can't even imagine a 3rd or 4th season, but i do hope somebody out there is
bother to the screen actors guild
i did notice that in the 2nd season as it got off into the ridiculous, it abandoned a lot of questions unaswered in the 1st season- relationship with...rich guys wife, all the class-room sessions, was never explained, how exactly walt ended up with lung cancer- i always imagined it had something to do with Los Alamos, which was also never explained, what exactly he did there, i mean, thats a CIA base
but...high hopes and a year to mope- I would like to see Walt discovered, by anybody really, i realized when he asked if, she would stay if he told her the truth, that he's never said it to anybody, he's never opened up the secret to a single person, so theres always that to look forward to.

In an interview with Vince he says "this has to be a show about the consequences of a really bad decision". Well I've seen people make real decisions that lead to really bad consequences and Walt really isn't there yet. He still has his family , his son still respects him, Hank to see's him as a honest , gentle person , Walt still has his freedom , his home etc. So if this is supposed to be a journey of consequences then Walter has barely scratched the surface . Hence I don't really see how season 3 could be the last ... season 4 might be the last ... but not season 3. Season 3 will be taking Walt to the depths of consequences and then season 4 could be the struggle from those depths.

This show is the best show I have ever seen. It's so addictive, right the start. I'm happy that all relevant questions are answered as you continue to watch which is all you want as a viewer. All the viewer needs is closure. That part I'm really happy with. Great writing!!! Anything with question marks raised are less significant things that you can make your own mind up on. I think Vince achieved the perfect balance here of giving closure on the right scenarios and not on others. I just hope it doesn't go down the same bad taste road as epic failures like "Lost" and "Prison Break." Those shows started out great, and then they lost the plot and started cooking up complete and utter garbage & crammed it into a 60 minute time slot. I think B'Bad will run for between 8 to 10 seasons because it's got a phenominal amount of potential and lets not forget that money talks and this show will make all involved a lot of money.

I don't think Walt will ever reveal his secret to his wife because he knows she'll blab to Hank. He'll forever continue with a web of lies to protect himself. But I can't wait to see Walt's transformation when he's living on his own due to his wife kicking him out. He'll become pretty ruthless in the drug trade and will cook much larger quantities and massively expand an empire with Gus. After watching the final episode of season 2, I was thinking Gus will sever ties with Walt after realizing he's too high risk because of Hank, but I know Walt will convince him otherwise. And the best immediate part of season 3 is not going to be the aftermath of the plane crash and how that affects everyone. That will just merely pull the wool over your eyes, but Walt's plotted personal revenge for the shooting of one of his dealers. This will be the part where Walt turns into an unlikely and very ruthless crime boss. The no turning back point. I think he'll hire some bait to stand on a corner and peddle the drugs in the same area as the previous shooting and Walt will be at a vantage point to witness his temporary drug dealer getting killed. He'll then follow the shooter (the kid) to a base where he'll carefully work out how to take all of them down.

I can also see Walt and Pinkman moving in together. Pinkman will become Walt's true friend. You could see how much Walt cared for him at the end of season 2.

I think season 3 will end with Walt having to kill Gus which will allow him to inherit his drug empire via circumstance. If he does kill him, it won't be because of greed. Walt will have to protect Hank from getting killed by order of Gus because Hank will be putting too much of a dent in Gus's drug business.

Hey, Brett...great insight of the possible scenario of Season 3! You have some very good points I hadn't even considered. Thanks for your posting!!

What is your take on Walt killing Gus over the drug cartel as Brett stated, Nimrod???

Sad to admit that I just recently discovered BB and was hooked within 3 minutes of watching an episode the other night. I am trying to get up to speed before the premiere this Sun., and your comments and discussions are helping me..This is simply without a doubt the best writing and acting on tv today, and I can't believe what I have been missing,,I feel as though I have whiplash after each episode ends, and cannot imagine the energy it takes for the performances these amazing actors put out there week after week. I am completely sucked in to BB world from the moment the music begins,,,,
