Funyuns, Tortoise Bombs, and Teddy Bears!

Hey guys, this is a new thread I started for now where we can talk about the show since the other one is getting too long. I hope we can keep talking on this forum as long as we can!

Ha ha ha, you are too funny james26!
I guess I should be writing on the other forum, but dang it is so crowded with comments!
Skottey said that Walt should tell Skylar that he got his money from gambling. It sounds like a good idea at first, but I think it is a bad idea. She knows he is up to something, and it aint pretty. First of all, would you believe someone after they have lied to you repeatedly? Second, I don't think it would be that hard for Skylar to go to whatever casino he won his money to verify it. (I must admit I don't know the privacy policy of casinos.) Third, if Walt had won it big, wouldn't he be filled with ecstasy and surely share the good news with his family?
Walt does not have much common sense. He is not a very cautious man. If Hank wasn't so stupid, Walt, and Jesse, would have been in prison episodes ago. (Of course, Hank may know.)
An ounce is prevention is worth a pound of cure. Remember when we were kids and if we did something wrong with our friends, we would get together and come up with a believable, airtight, story that all of us had to stick to? Walt does not do this, which amazes me. When someone is a chemist they are constantly looking at other options, at every angle, and purposely trying to trip themselves up to make sure that the answer to a problem is probably the correct one. Walt should have spend his time covering all of his tracks, and looking at all possibilities, and having a plan for each one. It's what I would have done, and it sounds like it is what Gus does. I have heard intelligent people try to solve problems and a genius avoids, and prevents them.
In short, Walt should have done his homework!
As far as an excuse to how he got his money? That's a TOUGH one. If I was him, I would probably say fuck it, become some really big drug kingpin, and if I was ever caught, I would eat a lead sandwich (can't help it, whoever said that, it was hilarious.)
He's in too deep to do anything about it. Did he really think he would make a boatload of money, and just walk away clean? How knieve.
By the way, I think Skylar is a bit of a cunt. What I mean by this, is what if she confessed all, about Ted, and then Walt confessed all, maybe it would be easier for them both in the long run. I ramble, sorry for the long post.
Best snack in the world is Funyuns, I have been munching on them since day one!

user-pic

She does ride his butt a bit, but was it Skylar's fault Ted came on to her after he had a few too many drinks at the xmas party?... or at least that's what she told Marie.

I'm kind of hoping the Skylar comes out to be the solid one after all. If Ted comes on to her again, she lets him know she's not interested.

Gosh, someone in the show has to have some virtues. One would think.

It just if they build up some affair with Skylar and Ted, it's going to come across a bit too soapish.

I kind of like the Walt the bookie idea. Kills two birds with one stone. Explains the money and the second phone too.

Now with Don and the plane crash. You should look at this season 1st ep. when Walt's looking for news about a body in the junk yard. To me it really is almost identical to Don's freeze up. Same background sounds--look.. only difference is that Skylar snapped him out of it.

It's like they ended the season sort of the same way they started it. Once past the drug deal with Tuco.

Seems to me... it would be a good time for Jess and Walt to get out.. don't they have enough cash?

user-pic

Aww come on! Of course Ted will come onto her again! I am no expert at this type of thing by any stretch of the imagination, but I have seen my fair share of this type of stuff.
We honestly don't know what really happened between them two, maybe nothing. I am willing to bet though that she, Skylar, certainly didn't reject his advances initially.
After all, I do think she used her wiles, and knowledge that Ted had a crush on her, to get her old job back.
Besides this, if Ted ever gets caught for his embezzlement, they will put her behind bars just as well. I mean, she is keeping the books.
I just think it was wrong of her to leave Walt like that, especially when she would not even consider his excuses, when she herself is not that perfect.

user-pic

Be kind of funny if Skyler and Ted got arrested and called Saul. LOL Tooty, you are right...Skyler is just as complicit as Ted in the eyes of the law if she does not turn him in.

Read this in the interview with Cranston and thought it was funny as hell...

"Q: Who was the troublemaker on set this season?

A: We all have a lot of fun. You pull some practical jokes from time to time. For the episode where one of Jesse's guys gets ripped off, I go to his house and I pull out a gun and put it on the counter and say, "I want you to handle it." Well, props had a dildo, and I'm all serious and Aaron didn't know so I'm looking at him and I pull out the dildo and say, "I want you to handle it." He looks down and sees that and it's all over. [Laughs]"

Wish that would make the DVD!!

user-pic

Zia, there is no way now that Gus will let them quit now. He has a cash cow. He will pressure Walt to continue, or else he will either kill him, or turn him in, or kill his family. I think Walt is in the position he put Jesse in initially. Quite the turn around. But the difference is that Walt is smart. Will Gus get a ricin burrito?

user-pic

I think the Cartel is going to get to Gus.

Gus is draining their pockets more than Walt has.

Mr.Careful luck's going to run out. Walt may have cooked it, but Gus got 38 lbs. to the street. and he probably stepped on it and made it 50 lbs. or more.

The DEA in Albuquerque makes me think of the Three Stooges

Hank's -Curly Joe
Gomez- Moe

but who's the hell is Larry ;)

user-pic

We all have the " Breaking Bad Addiction" as does the meth and heroin addict. Vince and his staff must be laughing themselves silly to the bank with this series and seeing the masses "hooked" on Breaking Bad...and now with serious withdrawal pangs waiting for Season 3 to begin. You are so sadistic, Vince...have a heart for your admiring fans!

user-pic

A "squeeze" play might come about with Gus and Saul, both wanting more than their share and get greedier. They will demand more from Walt and pressure him to make more blue sky. Saul has baled out Walt several times now, with Jessie and because he has come to the aid of Walt, he might demand more percentage....the price of doing business.

AND....if they do need to make more meth..where the devil is the RV ???????????Repair shop???

default userpic

"Aww come on! Of course Ted will come onto her again!"

Can I help you reconstruct your sentence?

"Aww come on! Of Course Ted will cum into her AGAIN" (like the cleaning closet at the Christmas party before)

user-pic

Thanx tooty toot toot - I'm glad you liked the "lead sandwich" description - I got a million of 'em!

I think Walt telling Skyler that he won all that money gambling is a great idea, and one he should use. I mean, it's almost foolproof. There's no way she can check whatever casino he says he was at to verify he was there, and would she really go to all that trouble to find out? He can say also that he expressed no jubulation or held back from coming right out and telling her that he won all that money because he didn't know how she'd react in her bookeeper mind (like paying taxes on it and shit). He can also say the extra phone was used solely to call the bookie or racetrack.

But the big thing is he could say whatever the hell he wanted to (even the truth) and it would do no good. She has her mind made up she wants to exit stage left into Ted's arms. All she was waiting for was for her to have the baby, and for Walt to get something of a clean bill of health. Walt's lies were just more ammunition for her to use in order to make the decision to fly the coop. She desperately wants to wrap those hot legs around old Teddy-boy!

I just thought of a possible correlation between the pink teddy bear taking the plunge into Walt's pool and Teddy-boy taking the plunge into Walt's wife?

user-pic

Wow, looks like my thread is a success! Awesome! I hope this one keeps going, until it gets too crowded, then one of us can start another one, lol!

tooty-I thought the same thing about Skyler going to the casino to verify Walt's winnings. And you're right, in a lot of ways, Walt doesn't have much common sense. Although the plan he came up with for him and Jesse after they were kidnapped by Tuco was pretty brilliant. Getting naked in the supermarket...now that's extreme!!! BTW, I'm LMAO at your comment "I think Skyler is a bit of a cunt." What a polite way to call a woman the C-word! :) And I ate Funyuns yesterday, yo! :P

sweetposey- I wanna see that outtake on the DVD too! Jesse: "Why the hell is there a dildo on my counter, yo?" LOL!!!

gracie-Maybe Gus will get some ricin-laden chicken! That Los Pollos Hermanos stuff looks tasty! :)

zia-As for the Three Stooges, maybe Larry is Hank's boss, the old guy with the mustache! :)

Lindas555-I'm having Breaking Bad DT's. Seriously! Sunday night at 10, when it's not on, I'm gonna be shaking!!!

user-pic

bigfreak-I think Skyler would definitely go to all that trouble to find out about Walt's casino winnings. I mean, look at everything she already went through to uncover his lies. LOL about the "plunge" comment. I've been thinking about a lot of different things that could be of significance about the pink bear. For one thing, in the previous episode, Donald was telling Walt about how they found water on Mars, and then this pink bear from the crash caused by Donald also found water...in Walt's pool! And it also came from an airborne craft, like the "Phoenix" on Mars.

user-pic

there is quite a number of casinos here

user-pic

There are here too in the U.P. There's a lot of Indians up here who own them.

user-pic

LIke I said, I really think Skyler would have a tough time trying to find out which casino Walt could have gone to, since there's so many of them! And if he did give the name of one to her to verify if he was there or not, they're not going to remember who he was, and they probably wouldn't tell if they did, especially if it was in Vegas. Remember the slogan "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas"? Places there don't divulge info on any guests. I'm not trying to argue with ya James26 - don't get me wrong.

I think Ted is being a real dickhead dragging Skyler into his cooking the books scheme. We all know that's basically why he hired her, because anybody else would blow the whistle on his ass, plus he would get some hot sex in the process. She must really be stupid and willing to put her neck on the line for him, because as tooty toot toot said they'll put her in jail too. But I forsee Walt putting on the Heisenberg mask and stepping in to take care of Ted, either by the ricin meth (Oh, I HOPE so!) or calling Saul to get somebody to make him "disappear".

Sorry, but I better go cut my grass!

user-pic

No prob, big freak! You're probably right about the casino.

Ever since Ted first appeared, I've had a feeling that Walt will try to get rid of him eventually. I can't wait to see if, and how, that happens! The whole storyline of Skyler and Ted reminds me of the Sopranos. Wasn't there somebody that Carmella was cheating on Tony with? Was it her boss maybe? Any Sopranos fans here know who it was?

user-pic

I wish I could help with the Sopranos connection, but to be totally honest with you, I think I could count on my one hand the number of Soprano episodes I've ever seen! No shit! I would really like to find the entire box set cheap somewhere, like maybe a yard sale or something?

user-pic

'Sokay, bigfreak. I looked it up online. She had an affair with a couple of guys, but they weren't her boss. She was also in love with her priest but didn't sleep with him. I've actually only watched a few episodes of the show myself. I really should watch more...

user-pic

So, how many seasons/episodes did the Sopranos run? Like 3 years or something?

I'm bumming out bad james26: Wings up on the Penguins 5-0.

I would absolutely love to go up through the U.P. of Michigan, then into Canada. A couple years ago when I took a trip to my cousin's place in Warren MI (suburb of Detroit). On the way home I surprised my daughter when I got off the exit for the bridge to Windsor, Ontario. We then went through Canada to Niagra Falls, then back into the US, then down to home in PA. Pretty cool ride!

It would also be cool to drive my '75 Cutlass (see avatar) to Michigan someday.

default userpic

James26-
I guess I missed that before that you are in the UP of Michigan. I grew up in the lower peninsula on the west side of the state in a small town on Lake Michigan. Nice place but cold as hell in the winter and everybody knows everybody. I moved out of there at 19, mainly to get away from partying and trouble with the law and to get an education and job. My idea of drugs was smoking a lot of pot, doing a little LSD until I met somebody that was permanently loony-binned for having a bad trip and going nuts (or nuttier), a little Cocaine, and some embalming fluid. Nothing like the drugs on Breaking Bad. I tried a lot of shit, like trusting a friend on wild mushrooms from cow shit when I first moved to Florida. It was either "eat the purple ones (the color streaks under the cap) but the black ones will kill you" or "eat the black ones and the purple ones will kill you." Don't remember now. Not important. I guess I never ate the wrong ones. Or did I? haha

bigfreakinnaz-
I loved the Windsor casinos. I was either able to gamble and drink there at 18 or 19, much nicer than the 21 law to a kid in the United States. I have also made the Detroit to Niagra Falls trip some years back. I remember thinking it was crazy that people could just pull over on the shoulder of the road and sleep and do whatever, where as here you are not supposed to pull off a highway or Interstate like that unless it is an emergency.

user-pic

skottey: I liked the 85 mph (or whatever kilometers it is) speed limit on that big highway from Windsor to Niagra Falls (Whatever it's called). On that road a Lamborghini passed me like I was sitting still - he has to be doing at least 140 mph - and NO cops anywhere!

user-pic

bigfreak-The Sopranos was on from 1999 to 2007. They had six seasons in that time, and I think about 86 episodes. Sorry about the Wings beating the Penguins. :(

I've been to Canada a few times, I love it up there! Your car looks awesome, you should totally drive it up here! :)

skottey-Embalming fluid? Are you serious??? Damn, dude, I've never heard of people doing that...I'm glad you got off that shit.

user-pic

How about this: Skylar is arrested and jailed with Ted due to his tax evasion, and Walt is able to pay Saul with his drug earnings to get Skylar out of prison and then defend her at trial. How can Skylar hate Walt when he's paid to saved her butt? Walt may be able to tell her about where the money comes from, or he may just be able to tell her that she doesn't want to know, and she'll be OK with that, now. Kind of hard for to complain about Walt's secrets when she's been arrested for being part of a tax evasion scheme; "oh, there's that...". These evens could let Walt be more of a Heisenberg in his relationship with Skylar.

The RV should still be in that tow truck guy's yard. However, Jessie had been paying tow-truck-guy rent to keep the RV there, and I wonder if anybody has remembered to pay that bill. The tow truck guy may try to sell the RV, which could come to the attention of Hank and company. If the DEA investigates the RV, they may find some clues back to Walt and Jessie (?)

One thing about this plane collision and crash is that Albuquerque and the whole area is going to be in chaos. Lots of crazy things could happen. Skylar may return to Walt right then because she is worried that he may have been injured/killed in the fall out, and then she realizes that she loves him and can't leave him.

This crash could clear the deck for a whole new realty in all of our character's lives.

user-pic

I agree, MHJim! A lot of people are criticizing the plane crash, saying it's unrealistic and everything, but I trust the writers, and I know that there will probably be a lot of great things that come from this crash, storyline-wise. Season 3 should be awesome!!!

James26-

Regarding your post about Jane breathing on the other thread. Yes, my wife and I both noticed it. My snappy wife quickly called it out loud before I could. We rewound it and both laughed a few times. Very bad acting. She was so obviously breathing. I guess Vince really doesn't have a way to go back and watch what he has filmed on location. I'll bet he was PISSED when the only cut they got had her chest going up and down.

I said it before and I'll say it again, the actress that played Jane is NOT a good actress by any stretch of the imagination.

Being perfectly honest, I failed to mention it after the show because I assumed everyone looking at the screen saw it. It was really obvious. She is horrible.

default userpic

When I was a kid I remember it was 100 kilometers an hour on that highway. I remember saying to my Grandfather, "wow, you can go 100, that is fast." He explained that it was kilometers and not miles... haha.

user-pic

Hey skottey, thanks for directing people over to this side of the STREAT! LOL!

I actually didn't notice Jane breathing when I watched the episode. Probably because I was focusing on Mike cleaning up. It doesn't surprise me though. I think casting Krysten Ritter was the only mistake that's been made with this brilliant show. It's all good now though since she's dead! :)

default userpic

James26 said "skottey-Embalming fluid? Are you serious??? Damn, dude, I've never heard of people doing that...I'm glad you got off that shit."

haha... I forgot to mention that it wasn't injected, snorted, or drunk.

What happened is that I read in High Times that the latest trend at the time out of Boston was to lace their joints in embalming fluid. It just so happens that me and some other people were at an open casket visitation at a funeral home and we sneaked down into the room where they did the bodies and stole a bottle of the stuff. It was rather interesting down there. We saw a couple bodies down there in the freezer and the elevator (it was a basement) that would lift the bodies from down there to the main floor. We saw a couple tables where they prepped the bodies and the sickest thing of all to me was the box of eyeglasses and hearing aids. There must have been 300-400 pairs of glasses tossed in a cardboard box. It was creepy but exciting to me at the time. I actually considered becoming a funeral director and was even more excited when I saw the salary surveys showing they earned an average of $150K after 20 years in the business. Reality sunk in and I did computers instead, but that was a dream of mine for a while.

Anyway, regarding the fluid. Only tried it once and I remember I was at the beach and I literally froze up and couldn't move standing waist deep in Lake Michigan. It wasn't the cold water freezing me up, it was either really good weed or the embalming fluid we laced it with. Never touched the fluid again after that.

Yes, I am crazy!

user-pic

Jesus Christ! That is messed up! I wonder if there will ever be a show that features embalming fluid-laced weed, lol!

user-pic

Good theory MHjim...Sklyer might be indicted along with Ted. They go to jail and the baby Holly will come back to Walt for care. Skyler will not be able to take care of the baby in jail by no means. OR how about this?

The IRS is investigating the Hospital for over billing patients's accounts and finds Walt's suspicious cash payment for surgery. This sparks an investigation by the Feds to investigate for not reporting sufficient income to pay a $300,000.00 surgery bill on a meager teacher's salary. Any donations for Walt would also be taxable therefore, it starts a chain reaction of how Walt paid that bill. Hank hearing of Walt's cash payment also scratches his head as to how Walt came up with the money and he is also curious as to how the bill was paid. Flynn will also wonder how dad paid for the surgery bill when even the donations on the internet have not even reached that amount and dad paid the bill before the surgery....Okay Walt...now explain this scenario to how you paid your medical bills!

user-pic

James26
Hey skottey, thanks for directing people over to this side of the STREAT! LOL!

"STREAT" freakin hilarious...

I'm reposting on this thread the following comments that I posted today from the old thread.

Walt can’t tell Skyler the truth about the meth and the money. His hidden life from Sky (as well as everyone else) is one of the essential tension points in the plot. No, he will either come up with another lie or somehow avoid addressing the issue altogether. I like the gambling angle as it can work quite well providing plausible answers to all of Walt’s loose ends.

Another (albeit far more whazoo) theory is that somehow Walt fakes his own death in the debris from the plane collision. Not sure how this would work mechanically, but Walt’s glasses in the evidence bag (and the two body bags) still need to be addressed and I don’t think they are “pink herrings” like the teddy bear. I know this theory is far out (gotta give credit to my bro T for the idea), but I’m digging it and if the writers wanted to go there, I’m sure they could make it work. A dead Walter could take the plot into unforeseen places as Walt watches from the grave as Sky falls into Ted’s arms and Heisenberg takes Saul's advice and hooks up with a hottie to satisfy his power-driven horn-bone. This theory can also get the money into his family’s hands (via savewalter.com) in a way that leaves Skyler, Flynn, and Holley taken care of while leaving Skyler guilt-free. With the money gone, Heisenberg will need to cook yet again - this time for himself. Syler (now with almost half a mil) can bail out Beneke Inc which of course will eventually blow up in her face.

Could you imagine the look on Hank’s face when he stumbles onto dead Walter in the bust of his career in the season 3 finale? Does he turn Walt in? He can get away with not turning him in if he wants to since Walt is "dead". This becomes the end of season 3 cliff-hanger and sets up season 4.

Probably totally wrong, but its fun to think about. Can’t wait for the writers to “Strap on the shizzle and glass up the rest” for season 3.

user-pic

James26, good point. The writers have been consistently great for 2 seasons, so it's hard to believe that they suddenly turned into ordinary writers for the last show of season 2. Others may say that the show was going down hill before the end of season 2, but I don't think so. It's almost like they tried to end season 2 with a jump the shark moment to fool us (like they've fooled us with many other shows), but that moment is still unfolding as season 2 ends.

Lindas555, also good idea about the feds tracking the funds spent to pay for Walts medical bills. Even if the IRS isn't looking into the hospital, I believe that a bank has to report any transaction greater than $100K (?), so the feds may come looking for Walt to answer some questions, anyhow.

How did everyone survive the first "BB"-less Sunday night in awhile? I watched the Tony Awards, as I do every year. I always find the music and drama performances soul-nourishing. I especially enjoyed the performances from "Billy Elliot" and "Next to Normal." Talk about different and creative ways of telling a story - There's some really original stuff happening on the Broadway stage.

Now NEXT Sunday night - That's when I'll really notice the absence of "BB."

default userpic

Poor viewer.... if you look at the old thread there was a viewer commenting as they sat waiting for the season finale LAST NIGHT.. I broke it to them that it was on last week! hahaha.

user-pic

MHJim-Thanks! I think the planes crashing is just a small part of what's going to unfold at the start of season 3. It should be brilliant!

rockmama-I flipped through the channels last night desperately searching for something to watch. Watched a little of In Plain Sight (another show that takes place in ABQ), and a few other things, but nothing could satisfy my BB craving!!!

default userpic

James26-

I agree with you that the plane crash will end up being a very small part of the overall story in the 3rd season.

user-pic

Thanks skottey! Just like how season 2 started with Tuco being the central storyline, but by the end of the season he was a distant memory.

user-pic

distant memory.............
That's because we have short memories That's because we have short memories.. §§§§

my bad ..last year

LOL zia! I see you went back to your Heisenberg avatar! :)

Hey, y'all- just made the jump from the old thread.
I'll cut & paste:
By jtp on June 8, 2009 6:40 PM
TTT- We are in agreement. It's not just the lazy ones at the low end of the income scale who are wrecking the country, though. We've got our share of bottom-feeders for sure, but what about the smart conniving crooked chiselers at the top of the food chain. The "Made-Offs" and Enron pirates. These days, criminals don't have to break in your house to make off with your life's savings. It can all be easily done mit un computer.
And if they get caught and if they serve time, they will do it a place like The Club Fed on Eglin AFB- with tennis, racquetball, internet and cell phone service.
By jtp on June 8, 2009 6:47 PM
On a lighter note, the woman and I threw a party- backyard BBQ for some friends the other day. The "fancy hors d' ourves" included Funyuns, MunchOs and Bugles. All that was missing was a 6-pack of Schraderbrau!
We are getting excited about this Johnny Depp as John Dillinger movie. Haven't darkened a theater door since "There Will Be Blood", but this 'un looks like one to catch on the big screen. I'm thinking matinee, with the woman and a big tub of popcorn. She will probably get naughty and we may get arrested, but the comet's coming in 2012 anyway.

default userpic

I'm not kidding about the Club Fed- it really exists. Got a close look at it back in the 90's. You wouldn't know it was a prison. Instead of fences, they've got chalk lines that the inmates are not supposed to cross. I didn't see a single guard that carried a gun. The inmates- Mafia types and white-collar criminals- don't want to escape from this place. Would you? It's like an upscale resort. Guess who pays to coddle these big shots? The moral, I guess, is: if you're gonna steal, steal BIG.

default userpic

...and I want my $10 U.S. Savings Bond, dammit!

user-pic

to jtp:
HA HA HA, the infamous "end of the world in 2012 scenario." (Oh yeah, just got done posting on the old thread, basically said what you said, STEAL BIG! lol)
What gets me is the people who predict this stuff. Why don't they predict the winning lottery numbers and use the money to throw one kick-ass party to bring in this comet of destruction!
Reminds me of the lyrics of that one Tool song (I can't remember the name.) Goes something like:

"some say a comet will fall from the sky, followed by metor showers and tidal waves, followed by fault lines that can not sit still, followed by millions of dumbfounded dipshits...some say we will see Armageddon soon, I could sure use a vacation from this...stupid shit..."

I have to say though I would rather see Armegeddon than predict it. :)

Worry is wasteful.

Life is unfair. Reminds me of a cartoon I saw a long time ago. Basically it has 3 fish in it: a large fish, a medium fish, and a small fish. The small fish is getting eaten by the medium fish and says "Life is unfair." Meanwhile, the medium fish is getting eaten by the large fish and is saying, "Life is somewhat fair." And of course, the large fish is saying, "Life is very fair."

jtp

they will do it a place like The Club Fed on Eglin AFB

I was stationed at Eglin... 33rd TFW, worked over at King Hanger. Which was great as the rest of the wing was over in the TAC area

Yeah it exists. They would wash & clean cars at the motorpool. That's one of the ways they got their dope in.

Kind of funny, I saw John Ehrlichman at the cafeteria here in SF after he was released from prison. He died in 99, wasn't because of the food as I did okay. :)

I have been making fun of it so much that I am going to end up spelling it STREAT on accident. I'll be with a client or something and write down 2001 1st STREAT, St Petersburg, FL... oh my gosh that was so funny when he wrote STREAT looking for Skank's house. We men have bad spelling to begin with but pluck an uneducated scumbag out of the mix and check their spelling. I'll get there are native English speakers that cannot spell simple worlds all the time. Sure, we see a lot of "there" mixed up with "their" and "they're," and that type of thing because the English language is a tough one, but it is downright funny and sick when such a common word like street is spelled wrong by a dirtball. Funny shit.....

Question.... What was everybody's highlight moment or moments of the season?

I loved (in no specific order)-

The Tuco's uncle bell scenes in his house, and with the cops to a lesser extent.

The turtle blowing up

The one on one time and light jokes with Walt and Jesse out in the desert.

I can't think of anything else right now specific but the season itself was great.

I'd have to maybe say my favorite episode was the episode with Spooge and Skank and the ATM crush... that played out very well.... good stuff.

Zia, No I enlisted for 4 yrs, extended 16 months to take an overseas assignment to of all places the "The Heath". Yes thats right my Brother, I too was stationed at RAF Lakenheath from 1982 - 85. Was initially assigned to EMS - phase inspection, but missed going TDY. So I transfered to the 495th AMU (Green section). Rotated back to Luke AFB and the 58th TTW - 310th AMU. My first assignment was also at Luke 405th TTW - 461st AMU. Hey we'll have to pick this conversation up later, I'm headed to Vegas today, will be back next week. Chat with you later. Cheers...

skottey-"Grilled" and "Peekaboo" were by far my favorite episodes of the season, but I loved every one. I thought Saul was a nice addition to the cast. Anything with Badger, Skinny Pete, and Combo was good too. "4 Days Out" was a great episode, even if it was a little drawn out. Funyuns and robots, yo! I also liked the exploding tortoise. "Over" was probably the most low-key episode so far, but I loved the ending with Walt telling the guys "Stay out of my territory". Oh, and Jesse falling through the porta-potty was good too! Jesse was my favorite character this season!

default userpic

can't help but share..I won a BB t-shirt! YEAH! I look forward to how the writers will present Season 3. Remember the mantra-- One step forward two steps back. It could start with Skylar seeing the explosion, terrified for her son and Walt--returns. Thus Walt could tell his convincing story. Hank will continue to have no clue about Walt. Distribution of product is too easy--I don't look for Gus to be around for long..I wonder if he was on the airplane. I tend to agree that Walt will somehow rescue Skylar and her problem. I wonder if Ted's business will become the new distribution point? How will writers get Jesse back into the mix?
I still wonder at Hank and Walt dressed in fancy white-as for a wedding..hmmm.

user-pic

Personally, I think just about every scene was excellent. Here is just a sample of my favorites:

1) When Walt is inside Jesse's apartment with the map layed out and he has that look of greed in his eye and he is tapping the map crazily. He tells Jesse excitedly, "Exponential growth, that's the key here!"

2) Inside Jesse's apartment again; and Walt is trying to convince Jesse that he is a blowfish. At the end, while Walt goes into a coughing fit, Jesse reaches over to his bong to take a hit, and exclaims, "Blowfishin' this up!"

3) Walt has finished making the battery that will hopefully save them. He looks at Jesse and asks, "And what shall we conduct this beautiful current with? What element comes to mind? Hmm?" Walt then wiggles the wire in front of Jesse. "Hmm?" Then Jesse, that poor soul, says, "Ahh...wire."

And then some. Skottey, maybe the proper question would be, "So folks, what were your least favorite scenes?"

user-pic

Well, this is timely. I signed in to post a little nugget from the new issue of "TV Guide." In their list of "TV's Top 100 Episodes of All Time, #98 is "Breaking Bad's" episode, "Peek a Boo," which
Skottey and James mentioned here. Yes, it's the one with Spooge, Skank, the ATM machine and the little red-haired kid. That's my favorite "BB" episode, too. I really liked the relationship that devekoped between Jesse and the kid. My absolute favorite moment was near the end- I don't remember the exact details- but I someone (Skank?) hit Jesse over the head with something, and the little kid touched the back of his own head, as if feeling Jesse's pain. Jesse had shown the kid compassion (maybe the only kindness he'd ever been shown) and now the kid was feeling it in return. A beautiful moment amid the violence.

Who is (or was) your least favorite character of season 2?????

Mine was Jane, as if I had to mention it.

user-pic

rockmama-That's awesome about TV Guide!!! BB is getting some recognition! "Peekaboo" is going to be a classic someday. Actually, it already is! I never even thought about the kid touching his own head after Jesse got hit. That is brilliant!!!

Everyone knows Jane was my least favorite part of season 2 as well!

user-pic

Where is everyone???

user-pic

right here James...

Miss me? ;)

I really didn't like that guy who told Walt he only had a hour to make the deal.

Made him miss Holly's birth ..jeez

I didn't like the kid who shot combo either

user-pic

My least favorite character was the guy with the long hair that was eating chicken in Gus' restaurant. He ruined the whole season! LOL!!!

Seriously, though, it was Jane. :P

Is there any way to get this thread back up to the top of the talk forum? I had to go to the "Older" page to get to it.

Hey guys, long time no chat, I was surprised to see the forum still open. Took me a bit to find James26 thread, but it was very nice to see everyone still around.

My least favorite character of season 2 was Jane. Bad deal all around she turned out to be.

Hey mnsteph! Thanks for posting on my thread! :)

Is there any way to get this thread back up to the top of the talk forum?

I think it based on date but the recently seems to be based on last post.. guess I should go post in my thread and bump yours down a bit James :)

user-pic

Skotty, I read your rant on the prior thread and it really struck me with something that has been rolling around my head and also keys into the primary motivation for Walt.
Years ago, a man was measured by how well he was able to provide for his family. No self respecting man would take charity from anyone. In the interviews with Vince, he refers to Walt as prideful. Yes, he is prideful. But he also has the old school virtue of self reliance. My mother in law tells of having to stand in soup lines on the sly during the depression. Her mother would not take any charity at all. She said they nearly starved. My father was also very adamant against any kind of welfare. He would not accept any kind of public aid at all either. Somewhere we lost that sense of self reliance. I think sometime during the sixties with the Great Society programs that introduced a whole generation to the public dole. Now I think there is a place for charity, properly run, with guidelines and limits, but I think the entitlement mentality you described has done away with anyone thinking that a man should be responsible to his family and provide for them.

Many people on this forum have said "Walt should have taken Gretchen and Elliot's offer to help." They might have suggested he cut off his nuts as well. Walt is an old school guy with old school values. To take charity (from someone who obviously cheated him) would be just as emasculating.

user-pic

Lol zia. :)

user-pic

I agree Zia. Look at the new posts. Stupid shit. Too much freedom I guess. Momma always taught me to keep it simple stupid.
We all pretty much know we are the true fans here.
To Gracie:
Call me an old-timer, but yes, we do not trust free giveaways. A man makes his own way. If he does not, then he is someone else's soldier.
In a perfect world there would be no charity. What is charity anyway? (Chew on that a moment.)
Althought I did not see that episode, I got the feeling that some people had screwed Walt over his idea, his invention, and to me that is a the worst thing a person can do: steal another's idea. If I was Walt, I would not want their pity money either, I would have them murdered (maybe a foreshadow?) I would fuck them up!
You could tell he was pissed at his party. The worst feeling in the world is having people living off what you have busted your balls for. In my opinion, revenge is respected in this way.

user-pic

I spoke in heat. I meant there are too many new (retarded) threads, not posts. I respect the regulars' posts.
This is what happens when the masses get ahold of something spectacular.

Walt is ok. They say pride is a sin and if I was to ever "burn in hell" I will make sure I have plenty of that.
It's ok to seek help, but to live off it, that is the biggest problem.
I have been in Jane's place, and relapsed many times. She might have loved Jesse, but after his dealer/friend got murdered it was just too much. Once you get hooked on meth (or any hard drug) your brain is forever changed. He warned her. But she was enticed.
My guess is that the writers needed her for Jesse's character development; essentially, sadly, she was disposable.
Anyway, the show is over. When you boil down your existence, this show is just entertainment. Genius entertainment.
With that being said, let's all do ourselves a favor and exclude the term vicarious from our upper conscious.

tooty toot toot...
I know you will roll your eyes and say this is too cheesy....BUT, it has been my experience that many people come into your life for a reason, good or bad, its usually a warning or a blessing to encounter these people, for they are placed there to teach us...ah so.."young grasshopper, you have grasped the lesson well"....Kung Fu

Jane came into Jessie's life for a reason to teach him there will be others like her in his life and in the future, Jessie might not be so naive as to fall for slick talking Janes. I clearly remember the feeling I had about Jane when she was introduced in the series....how black and white she talked..cut and dried, no punches pulled, cold, conditioned and don't give me shit. It was like the devil walked in the door and Jessie was the target. I can't explain it..Jane was a character out of D&D (Dungeons and Dragons make up character), but clearly she liked Jessie immediately. Jane was the warning Jessie needed, only Jessie had blinders on and couldn't see through Jane's facade.

user-pic

By the way, tooty toot toot, who are the retarded threads and who are the regulars???

user-pic

I feel you lindas555.
I didn't do the cliche "roll your eyes." As for "grasping the lesson well," well...all the time, with considerable internal interference, I was thinking: Masters must learn when they teach.
I digress. I just feel sorry for Jesse. It was obvious that he wanted to meet her dad, but she rudely blew him off. The scene where she was sucking on that popsickle (a bit too much for me :) ) and she replies,"There is no you and me," should have given Jesse a hint. Anyway, people who view druggies, without even ever being there, seem to think that they solely do it for pleasure. In reality, drugs are a way, good or bad, to escape the harsh conditions of rejection.
I agree, you are right. Strangers do come into our lives to test us. What really matters is how we test the ones we don't know.
By the way, I was referring to the ridiculous new threads being posted; I apologize for using the harsh word "retarded."

I wonder... am I in this universe or is it in me?

It is going to feel like a long, long, long time until season 3 starts.

Did they actually confirm a season 4? I saw that other post that says they reached a deal with the SAG and said something about seasons 3 and 4. You know, that would give Vince a better idea of how to write the story if he knows he has two seasons to spread it out. He can plan on leaving many unanswered questions and a cliffhanger between 3 and 4. He can plan a wrap up of season 4 and end the series right or at least, presumably gain the knowledge of a season five with plenty of time to adjust his story.

Part of me wishes I could fast forward four years and just watch the rest of the series right in a row and then rewind back to the present day and live my life. haha. I can't wait. A few years of anticipating the next show or season won't kill me I guess.

LOL skottey! I know what you mean. I really, really hope that AMC gives Vince enough time to tell the entire story and bring it to an appropriate end, like FX did with The Shield. I would hate it if the show was cancelled after a season ends with a cliffhanger or something, like FX did with The Riches. I have faith in AMC, since the show is getting really good ratings for them. I don't think they'll wanna lose it anytime soon. :)

I got an early Father's Day present from my kids: the BB Season 1 DVD set. With all the talk about how great season 2 has been, I had forgotten how good season 1 was.

One of my favorite lines of ep 12 season 2 is when Walt is dropping off the bag o money and says to Jesse "Way to wear the pants...".

This is actually Walt's payback to Jesse for being dissed in ep 2 season 1 when after Skyler stops at Jesse's house (while Jesse is moving Amilio's body out of the RV) and tells him to stop selling pot to Walt, Next scene, Jesse confronts Walts fear of Skyler finding out about his activities and says "Way to wear the pants Mr White".

Having seen season 2, I have a whole new appreciation for the subtle clues and connections to the future that I never had an inkling about the first time I saw season 1. I can say that rewatching season 1 is taking the edge off my BB withdraw :)

skottey and James, I posted on the old thread June 13 (didn't know about this one)

Thanks

user-pic

I agree with skottey and James26, man... it is gonna be a long time until season 3 starts. I hate that. But that's life. I hope Season 3 is just as good as 1 & 2. While I wasn't a fan of the Season 2 finale, I do think the season was fantastic. Hopefully with Jane gone, the show can get back on track (right James?) LOL. I am hoping that AMC will do a BB marathon sometime this summer to peak more interest.

In a way I think I like coming into the show late, I was able to watch Season 1 from start to finish and then join in right as Season 2 got under way. I had to laugh when my aunt (in her late 60's), whom I told HAD to check out the show, emailed me and told me they were upset because they were on the last episode in Season 1, they didn't want it to end. I felt the same way, I had fallen for the show and wanted more.

user-pic

freedomofair-Welcome to the Funyuns thread, yo! :)

mnsteph-Life sucks without BB on every week! I don't know how I'm gonna make it till next March. Everyone seems to have vanished from here. I'm glad you're still here though. Yeah, it's so awesome that Jane won't be on the show anymore! AMC will probably replay this season sometime this summer. I hope they show season 1 again too. I can never get enough of that. That's so funny about your aunt. I love that people of all ages can get into BB! The show is so unbelievably addicting. I've never been hooked on a show like this before. I think the show must send out crystal meth waves into our minds to get us addicted, lol!

user-pic

I agree with you James26, Sunday nights not being able to watch Breaking Bad has been really dull and nothing else on TV seems to fill that void. There seems to be a correlation to Breaking Bad as if we are all hooked on Vince Gillgian's own BlueSky meth of the series Breaking Bad! He has made us addicts of this series!

user-pic

You're right, Linda! I totally feel like a junkie who's having DT's on Sunday nights because BB isn't on! There's literally nothing else to watch on tv that night of the week. I mean NOTHING!!! I flip and flip through the channels, and I almost pull my hair out because of the lack of anything even halfway decent to watch!!!

default userpic

I think that Walter has a chance to get out of his troubles with Skyler...but more on that later in my post.

First I have to say that after watching the season 2 finale, I sat back and realized this show is much deeper than just the day to day activities of Walt and Jessie's enterprise into meth. It also is about how Walt's decision to make and sell meth has:

*Destroyed lives (from the users of his product to Jesse, Donald, and even his own)

* Killed people (at least 4 on screen being Krazy-8, Emilio, Combo, and Jane. An unknown...at this point...number of people in the aircraft, and who knows how many who have overdosed on his product, being that it is much purer than anything out there and people would probably use the same amount of his pure product that they would of their normal, impure meth)

* And caused millions of dollars of damage (Besides Tuco's Hideout, those 737's are $30-$50 million per aircraft...not to mention the debris hitting homes and businesses in ABQ)

It shows us that none of the adult leads on this show are innocent. Besides the obvious with Jesse and Walter, Donald has intentionally or unintentionally collided those planes (and will be revealed when NTSB pulls the tapes), Skyler is committing Conspiracy in not turning in her boss whom she knows is committing fraud and "cooking the books", Hank is prideful and has killed Tuco not to mention he let Walter give Walter Jr. alcohol so that is contributing to the delinquency of a minor, we have Marie who is a shoplifter, Gretchen and her husband Elliott took Walter's research and have made millions on it while giving no credit or money to Walter, Saul is a crooked lawyer, and Gus is very high level drug distributor. Everyone has a dark side, and it seems only a few people are willing to face that dark side and accept it or deal with it.

One thing I see mentioned is how Walter let Jane choke on her own vomit so he is Criminally Negligent in her death, however it is deeper than that as it goes back to Combo.

Walter pushed his dealers to go into other gangs' territory. That decision and greed got Combo killed. Because of his death, Jesse admitted to Jane he was going to light up. Because of that admission and because Jesse was so low, Jane shared her 'monkey of choice' (Heroin) with Jesse and took up her old addiction.

If Combo had not died, Jesse would have kept up appearances and not let on he was a drug dealer/user (even if Jane said she knew). I don't think Jane would have taken up her old drug habit if Jesse hadn't admitted he was going to smoke crystal. Given that there would be no reason for her to have any vomit to choke on when Walter came over to talk to Jesse.

I will admit the one hole in this is that not only did she still have all the tools of her trade after she had supposedly cleaned up, she still had black tar heroin. It could be argued that she already had taken back her addiction recently and just decided to share it with Jesse. (and that could be argued that perhaps Jane's resistance to re-addiction and willpower had been drained by having a drug using boyfriend and she had gone out and bought some tar from an old dealer..but that's getting pretty deep into speculation without any facts).

So IMHO, Walter's decisions directly and indirectly killed Jane. I think, however, that if he had saved her, she probably would have been indebted to him and thankful enough to keep his secret. At least that is the kind of person I believed her to be. Hurting Walter would have hurt Jesse and I believe that Jane knew that.

Now, like I mentioned previously, I think that Walter has a chance to get out of his troubles with Skyler without admitting his drug making/selling. Placing illegal bets/gambling, not casinos as they keep records of wins over certain amounts and report those winnings to the IRS.

If he says he has a bookie, has placed a few bets and won some money that explains the two cellphones, the money, the sneaking around and it isn't NEARLY as bad as admitting he is selling/making meth.

The Fugue State, well he can place the truth inside a lie and instead of admitting why Tuco took him (or even that it was Tuco at all) he can just say that owed someone money and they came after him and to protect the family he fled...or was kidnapped and was able to work out a deal to pay them off.

Some of the sneaking around could be explained as trying to help Jesse clean up. I can see that as a good "PR" thing for Walt in the eyes of his family.

Next season, it would be interesting to see Hank figuring things out and either joining up with Walt, or turning a blind eye as long as none of the product ever turns up in ABQ again. I think, however, that Hank will not learn about Walter, or if Walter is brought up as a suspect for some reason, Hank will flatly believe it in spite of the evidence "Walt is Heisenberg? Can't be."

Skyler certainly has her reasons to leave but not only is she as guilty of breaking the law as walt (maybe not to the extent but she certainly is), I believe she is going to have an affair with Tommy-Boy (I don't like this character for some reason...right away I disliked him...good actor, hate the character).

The writers have given us enough clues that there will be an affair between Skyler and Tom (I don't see her resisting and him raping her...not with what she knows about his business. He has to be pretty much a perfect gentleman around her now.) Now when Walt finds out, that will be a good show to watch. I suspect Tommy-Boy is going to wind up missing or dead. I have no idea how Walt would deal with Skyler, however now that they have a newborn daughter, I can't see him bringing down the 'wrath of god' on his (soon-to-be-cheating) wife.

A couple problems with the website are, first, that Walt's money is going into his son's paypal account. Let me say that again, "his SON'S paypal account". I have a feeling that Skyler is going to either keep the money, or have Walter Jr. shut the website down. Since Walt seems to be doing something (most likely illegal) to pay the bills, he won't need the 'charity' of others. Next, if the site stay's up, Walt is looking at hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars that will be coming into that account. $10,000 - $20,000 shouldn't raise too many eyebrows. Hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars...that is going to raise more than a couple eyebrows. Even something like $100,000 (not to mention $600,000) is going to catch the eye of the IRS or FBI or even local PD even if it looks to be legit on the surface.

While we don't know what will happen to Donald, I suspect that he will be fired and spiral into his own world of depression and loss, meaning Walter is responsible for ruining Donald's life (though it can be argued the Donald should have known not to go back to work so soon after the loss of his daughter. I'm also fairly certain that he would have been screened by a mental professional before being allowed back to work, so again, suspension of disbelief is in order.)

default userpic

Now my take on the aircraft crash is this: KUDOS TO VINCE! Listening to ATC (shout out to the guys over at http://www.liveatc.com !) and having a strong interest in aviation made this scene a little contrived, but still powerful and hey...they got some of the details right...not all but most.

They got the ATC dialog correct. In case it's not known ABQ is Albuquerque. Donald was ABQ approach and was handling the planes in the controlled airspace around the airport. My nitpick here is that they showed him using a scope mode which enroute controllers use, approach/departure controllers use a different scope setting with different data blocks.

Depicting the two aircraft colliding almost directly over Walt's home, I thought that was stretching thing just a little bit. Yeah, Walt's home was on the approach path of the airport but that just seems so heavy handed to have them collide almost right over top of Walt.

Before I go into a few nitpicks on the collision from me, an aviation fanatic, I want to say that I love the show and while I can point out where they went wrong in the writing, I can still enjoy the scene for how the writers meant us to view it. I can give them the "Suspension of Disbelief" to enjoy their writing...but I still can point out what was wrong in the script :)

NITPICK 1: Now, give it was seven seven weeks after Jane's death, Donald would have been forced to go through grief consoling and see a mental health doctor before being allowed anywhere NEAR the ATC building. He would have had to been cleared before returning to work.

NITPICK 2: Given a 737, or any aircraft with 30 or more seats, flown in US airspace is required to have a "TCAS II" (Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System), I can't see how this collision could have happened. For those who are not aviation geeks, the TCAS is a device that would have let the 737 PIC (pilot in command) know about the impending collision as soon as or even before ATC would have known about it. The TCAS would have first issued an audio and visual warning in the cockpit (a ‘Traffic Advisory’ (TA)) to assist pilots in visual acquisition of the small, general aviation aircraft that hit them in the show (more on how I know it was an airliner and a small general aviation craft later). The pilots in the 737 would have known there was traffic at their 3 o'clock and would have been looking to see it.

Their TCAS also would have analyzed the projected flight path of approaching GA aircraft and issued a ‘Resolution Advisory’ (RA) to the pilot to resolve the potential mid-air collision. Basically if you were an airline pilot inside the US an a TCAS tells you that there is a collision about to happen, then gives you an RA, you disregard whatever the ATC is saying and follow what the TCAS tells you. The control can only say "Roger" per the new updated rules if the PIC (Pilot in Command) states "TCAS CLIMB" "TCAS DESCEND" or "TCAS ADJUST SPEED" (2007). Now this nitpick can be written off by the writers as TCAS isn't 100% effective all the time and could be stated as not working or had not given warning to the pilots. I'll give them some slack on this boo-boo.

I just watched my DVRed copy of the episode and found he was acting appropriately for the situation. I can only speculate that he didn't recognize there was a possible collision in the making early enough.

I have frozen the screen and even played back the scenes of the ATC scope but he did everything he was supposed to do up to avoid the collision. This is a BIG KUDOS from me to Vince for getting this right on the button.

Now, Donald gave the traffic advisories as both aircraft were under his control. He was required to give at least one of them a vector or altitude change to avoid the collision, which he did as follows:

Here is what he said during the control room scene.
"Juliet Mike 21, turn left heading 115."
"WAF Air 515, 3 o'clock, turn left heading 085."

Which if you look at the screen was the correct procedure to give them...however....neither aircraft seems to obey his orders. A small nitpick is the scope shows the aircraft in collision with their heading tails pointed away from their direction of travel...this is not correct, but if you stop the scene you can see all the other aircraft have the correct heading flag pointing in their direction of travel with the correct 'hashing' to indicate speed and previous positioning. So basically it looked like the aircraft were flying backwards on the scope.

He then says (as the ringing begins and his voice is drowned out)
"WAF Air 515, descend to One Zero thousand"
"Juliet Mike 21, do you have the traffic at your nine o'clock?"
"WAF Air 515, do you have that traffic?"

The fact is neither pilot has made their turns. WAF Air stayed on his/her heading of 91 to 93 while Juliet Mike 21 was on a heading of 70-75.

Considering you have a very large cow in the sky (the 737) and a fairly small and quick dog, (The general aviation King Air) he should have seen the 737 was not obeying and would be the harder aircraft to turn if it did obey, so he should have called out something like

"King Air: Turn IMMEDIATE to zero eight zero for traffic. EXPEDITE!"

When a controller says Immediate, you sit up, pay attention and put your life in his hands. He has a bigger picture than you do of what is going on in the air. It means whatever he said, do it and do it promptly

When a controller needs to say EXPEDITE, they mean RIGHT THE **** NOW!

Put them together and it means "Do what I say, do it now, do it without thinking, or you WILL end up dead in the next few seconds"

Neither plane was listening to him per what we were shown on the scope. Based on this, Donald was in the clear, unless he wasn't holding his transmit button or his mic was faulty.

One could say that Donald should have seen this become a problem long before the aircraft were even close to each other...and most controllers with what looks to be Donald's experience level...would have been able to mentally visualize where these planes were going and have seen this problem long before it occurred.

Anyone interested in ATC should check out the movie Pushing Tin. The movie itself is a dud, but how they portray the way an ATC controller thinks, communicates with pilots and other controllers and how ATC scopes look is right on the money. Too bad the rest of the movie is crap.

Oh I looked at the scope screen shot again. Neither aircraft could have collided given their data blocks on the screen. The 737 was cruising at it's assigned altitude of 24,000, speed of 405knots, (squawking IDENT of 203).

The King Air was descending from 16,400 to 10,000., speed of 443 knots (squawking IDENT of 209).

They were showing aircraft with nearly 8,000 feet of vertical separation between them. No chance of a collision. Oh, you will also notice that during the radar updates on his screen, the data blocks never change. Just a nitpick :)

When all is said and done, there are only two types of people in this world.
The first type understands what it takes to be an ant, a bee, etc. He/she knows exactly what is in store for them if they behave in this programmed way.
Then there are the ones we live through vicariously. Some make the news; some don't.
This second type of folk does not fit the mold of society's current expectations. They are creators.
Let's examine evolution just a moment; have an open mind. If you believe in science it will tell you everytime: those that observe...become fossils. And those that act paint the canvas for God.
In short, move on. Be the small, shabby boat on this precarious river we might call life. In the end, either we are all oxidized or reduced.
This first type of people is the glue of DNA, so to speak. (There has to be a lot of chaos (a lot) for even one success (order) (Sincerely Nature)). Nature is blind. Pretty simple really. Either you perish or you withstand the agony and change accordingly.
The second type of people are forced to chose otherwise. They may be musicians, artists, engineers, scientists, etc. They are alone. They don't want to be forced into feeding a vacuum that will never be filled.
If anything, I implore you to walk away with this: Wherever you go, there you are. However, once you leave, you have to stay. :)

I love Hank's character, I don't want him to become a drug dealer, the series will lose a great element of contrast if that happens. Hank 's exterior is tough and no nonsense, but as the storyline progresses, he's emerging as a John Goodman "Teddy Bear." Walt had a meek, mild exterior, but a ferocious "tiger" is emerging.
Walt could be the JR Ewing of Crystal Meth (JR would kill anybody who messed with his family except himself of course.)

Hell yeah! I got myself a "Breaking Bad" t-shirt. I will wear it with great pride 'till the cows come home!
No no, I will wear it until people will ask me if I go to church all the time. I will kink an eyebrow: "Eh, what's that you say?" They will point to my shirt, seeing it being afflicted with years of use and abuse, and claim I am holy. I will finally pick up what they are putting down and realize, that yes, indeed, my shirt is full of holes.

By the way, I apologize for my random vents that have nothing to do with the subject at hand. I wake up in the middle of the night wondering if I said too much dumb shit. (I probably did.) Anyway, I get some relief that people probably don't pay me much mind anyway.

To conclude, please remember that if you know what you want, you are a very lucky person. Go out and grab that shit with both hands! Blah..blah..blah.

A buddy of mine has season one on DVD and is sending it to me in the mail. I can't wait to analyze the genius of....well everything about this show.

Oh and one more thing. That song at the end of the episode when Walt declares definitively "Stay out of my territory," is relentlessly replaying itself in my head. I think it is called DLZ (Not sure what that means). Inspiring though.

user-pic

Yeah, it's "DLZ" by TV On The Radio. It runs through my head a lot too. I think it's the best song they've had on the show so far! :)

user-pic

Thanks, zia! Glad to see you're still here! :)

user-pic

where else would I be ;)

I like the song too. I also like the build up to Heisenburg parking lot discussion, one of my favorite scenes.

user-pic

That was definitely the best scene of that episode! That's when Walt realized it wasn't "Over"! ;)

I can't wait till next March!!!!!!!

Post-season Sunday night depression isn't getting any better. We've been spoiled by the best damn show on television.

user-pic

I agree, rockmama! It's just not the same anymore!!!

user-pic

Last night I remembered what I USED to watch on Sunday nights and went back to it. I hereby announce my 3 words for enduring post-BB depression: Ice. Road. Truckers. LOL.

user-pic

LOL! No reality shows for me, sorry. :)

Breaking Bad Season 2 Ultimate Fan Quiz

By Clayton Neuman on June 23, 2009 2:27 PM
A winner has been randomly selected to win a Breaking Bad DVD Set, a T-shirt and a hat:

zia

I've never even seen this show :)

user-pic

Are you saying you won that, zia? That's awesome!

user-pic

yeah.. James... now I have to make more counterfeit items for the Zia Tour :-(

user-pic

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

user-pic

Re: James' dissing of "Ice Road Truckers" -
It's OK with ME, but Hugh "The Polar Bear" Rowland is taking it as a personal insult. And you don't want to be on The Polar Bear's bad side. LOL.

user-pic

LOL! I'd' rather be on his bad side than Heisenberg's! ;)

user-pic

Well, yeah. But Hugh "The Polar Bear" is real!

user-pic

LOL!!! :)

Hey people! I miss the hell out of BB and this forum and all of your thoughts and comments.
Lately I've been messing around and making BB music videos, just as something fun to do(I'm not real good at it I'm just learning). But ever since MJ died I'm not getting any hits on my videos @YouTube so I thought I'd post the links and hope some of you may check them out. It's weird, it's a total rush getting hits on videos you post on youtube, for me it is anyways.

Thanks Zia I did have alot of Bad Walt to work with, and I have alot of room for improving my editing skills, but it's fun to do.

user-pic

It really is great !!

AMC should give you a day pass at Serenity Spa or something ;)

Only time I saw George Thorogood was in Abq at the Kimo theater...good show

I love those videos. We're a creative bunch! I hope everyone will check out my song parody in the "Where are you, Jessie Pinkerman" topic.

user-pic

Thanks for taking a look at the video clips. I hope they help fill a tiny spot where BB should be in your life. I can't believe it's only been a few short weeks since Season2 ended. AMC should have ran a marathon for Father's Day, I think that would have been appropriate. I mean who else is a better father than Walt White. AMC, you dropped the ball on that one. lol

user-pic

Skyler is a total cunt. From her "talking pillow" to her grand stand of telling Walt to get out of the house, she is a pathetic looser. Everyone in Walt's life is a freak. And, that was OK until Walt got cancer. Now he has seen another side of life and these crippled malcontents he surrounded himself with just don't do the trick anymore. Walt has emerged as a killer and a ruthless business man. Tears and boo hoos don't fly anymore. Skyler is out of the picture. Why would Walt want her anymore. She is boring. The race is on to see how long Walt can live and who gets to be in his world.!!!!
