The Royal We

Pilot episode - "We're watching our cholesterol."

S. 2 - Ep. 5 - "I thought we weren't eating those."

Funny how easy it is to slip into finger pointing when it's not your behavior being criticized.

It seems with that comment Walt made to Skyler, he is making an effort to distract the attention away from him and his recent actions. He further does this by confronting her with the ciggie pack he pulled out of the toilet, and shaming her with it. She owned up to it though, showing she wasn't afraid to do so, no matter what he thought. She was probably then figuring "Okay, I just did the responsible, adult thing here, now it's YOUR turn to come clean with me."

Walt's attempts to rejoin the family with Skyler in that little "talk" was pretty annoying. If I was Skyler, I think I would've said We smoked 3 1/2 cigarettes today, so enough already. We don't feel like talking today!

In this Ep. 5, she wasn't shown going "out" on her little day trips, and you probably noticed that Walt didn't bring it up, even when she said Walt Jr. was "out" when Walt asked where he was at. I thought it was wrong for him to jump all over her for not knowing where he was, but was glad she basically said "Well, you're his Dad, don't YOU know where he is?", pointing out that Walt's fatherly duties and responsibilities are taking a back seat to whatever he's up to.

They didn't show anything about this, but how is he accounting for the time he's spending with Jesse cooking in the RV, driving out into the desert to meet him to get his money, etc.? And did he sneak out of the house while Skyler was asleep in the middle of the night to go to Jesse's place to give him that gun? I thought Walt said something to Jesse when they met in the store last episode like "I can't be gone longer than 20 minutes without her wondering where I'm at".

Well lately Walt hasn't been offering any excuses about his absences like he's at a sweat lodge, etc., I suppose because the fugue episode was so over the top (when he was kidnapped). I didn't know that he was on leave from work until I read the episode description for next week. If he's back in the classroom that's really going to put a crimp in his cooking schedule. Is he going to say he's setting up lab experiments for class?
