I really loved the scene with Jessie head to toe with blue crap and he is in Mr. White's kitchen. And after several days of making breakfeast for his own family ,who didn't really seem to appreciate it,he asks Jessie if he wants breakfast. Jessie who was probably starving, being without a house, slept in the RV, and covered in blue crap, he nods his head. It made me feel good because Mr. White had been real harsh with Jessie that whole episode and Jessie was having a real hard time and couldn't get a break and Mr. White wouldn't listen to him. When he offered him breakfast you knew that Mr. White was cool, he really does like Jessie.
DEA Agents Shrader and Gomez bring in Tio for another round of questioning, this time with "Heisenberg" present.
Gomez: Do us all a favor here, old man, and don't crap yourself this time!
Shrader: Yeah, the cleaning crew doesn't take kindly to biohazards.
Gomez: So listen up, Grandad. I want to ask you...did your nephew ever talk about someone named Heisenberg?
Tio: *ding*
As their story unfolds so is their relationship. Even though they seem to be at odds with each other they also are starting to be a team and maybe even friends. And although Jessie has a street wise manner he shows us in "Peekaboo" that he is compassionate and good-natured. He knows first hand from his Aunt what Mr. White's fate is and how little he has. But their relationship is just starting to be one, I that I think , they are starting to enjoy. What's Jessie gonna do when Mr. White dies? It makes me sad to think about it.
It seems like this guy would be known to the DEA, if he'd been recycled that many times. Hank was definitely feeling some apprehension after the arrest. Do you think he's familiar with Jimmy In-N-Out? Or did something else raise his hackles?
Talk about Episode 7, "Negro Y Azul."
Not being a native Spanish speaker, I've been trying (with the help of my elementary espanol and a dictionary) to decipher the lyrics of "Negro y Azul".
Following are the results. If anyone can correct my mistakes - or fill in my blanks - or knows where on the web I can find the lyrics - please comment!
NEGRO Y AZUL
La ciudad se llama "Duke",
Nuevo Mexico el estado,
Entre la latin mafiosa
Su fama se propagado,
Causa de una nueva droga
Que los gringos han creado.
Dicen que es color azul
Y que es pura calidad,
Esa droga poderosa
Hank is quickly becoming one of the coolest cats on the show, in my opinion.......I hated the guy during season 1 lmfao......he always made me laugh though! :P
If you haven't watched the COP TALK videos yet, I recommend them....."big time"!
Here's a couple off the top of my head........
"If i were to guess......I'd say it's spanish for Asshole!"
-to Tortuga(?) last Sun.
oh and this was great tension builder...
"Jesse Pinkman....you're a hard man to find!"
-before he realized it was Tuco!
I could quote the whole last episode.....loved the way he stood his ground to all those pricks he works with.......
If the characters were real who would you want to hang out with? Walt would be pissed off all the time, Jesse would be trippin, Hank can be a jerk... maybe the hot landlady! ... nah, it would have to be Badger for me. That dude cracks me up. Have you seen the original minisode "The Break In" with Heisenberg and Badger? It's priceless. Watch it.
Why am I having to ask for you to push me something? You should be making a killing off the merchandise, especially in this kind of economy! BB fans tell the bigwigs to sell us something to show our loyalty to the show. Don't make me go Tuco on y'all! I want to buy a T-shirt and I want it now!
On a scale of 1-to-10, how would you rate Walt and Jesse's partnership/business smarts so far? Right now, I'm giving them half a point.
Alexis' comparison (in Ep. 7 - Open Thread) of Walt's blowfish speech to Jesse as being on par with an Amway/pyramid motivational sale pitch was dead-on, I think. Is Walt so naive, really? Is Jesse so dumb? Sometimes I can't believe the words coming out of Walt's mouth. I keep wanting to holler at the TV, "You're talking about a drug business, Walt, not Amazon.com!". And as far as their recruits - the 3 Stooges (Skinny Pete, Badger, Combo), does anyone think they have the brains, muscle or nerve to help expand the business? Yikes.
I'd love to know where the storyline is from a timeline perspective. Maybe if it's only the first month or two in this whole enterprise, Walt and Jesse's learning curve isn't too bad, but boy, it's not great, either. Your take?

That moment, just before the real tortuga explodes, along with the severed head of Tortuga mounted on top of its shell, epitomizes one of the things I love about this show -- the flashes of dark humor.
Whether it's a decomposed body in a bathtub crashing through the floor of Jesse's former abode, or Walt sarcastically suggesting he bludgeon Tuco with "this" -- while waving a flyswatter, Breaking Bad has it's moments of absolutely brilliant dark humor.
What are your favorite moments of dark humor in Breaking Bad?
Hank!! When are you tossing out those sweet shirts? Anyone who reads your blog wants one, including me!
seeing as the cartel are after Heseinberg and all, I'm thinking "Mario Almada" should be the drug lord..
He's a famous actor in Mexico and his roles always involve drug lords and cops after them, ya know?
so who do you think should play the drug lord?
I've lived in Albuquerque my whole life, and i totally love the show. I really think New Mexico is beautiful, and i like how everything is tied into this city. Great job on everything, keep it up!!!!
I am a 63 yr. old woman and love the show. I want to adopt Jesse. When he saw that beetle and couldn't kill it, I knew he was not cut out to kill anyone. He is an amazing actor like the rest of the crew. I would like to know how Aaron trained to play the part. I have seen meth addicts on my street corner and he is so like them. Love the show!!!Keep it coming.
Talk about Episode 6, "Peekaboo."
Hey, a few questions about the wardrobe in BB, (Great job with it by the way, interesting use of colors for sure)
1. Are most of Jesse's clothes from the same designer? Is it Volcom? A few of the items look like they are Volcom.
2. Ditto for Walt, are most of the items from 1 designer.....I find his wardrobe very interesting indeed, I like how the color palette seems to change based on the character's changes. And I love the retro Wallabee shoes (which I love!), so cool to see. and they fit Walt very well :)
3. Is Walt's bathrobe a certain style/designer? It seems very colorful and interesting compared to how a lot of his other clothes seem, it also seems very "Southwest"
For anyone who happens to miss an episode, don't worry, it's playing again at 2 am on Thursday night. Or, watch it on youtube in five segments. Man, I don't understand how the best show on television is not allowed more time slots on a network that obviously boasts about the shows success. This, I guess, isn't a problem for most people who have DVR.
I love this dude, but he's such a suck-up! What are your favorite Skinny Pete moments?
Walt's whole sideline activities seem to be destined to devolve into a cat-and-mouse game with Hank somewhere down the line. We've already had a few tantalizing tidbits thrown Hank's way to get the ball rolling. In a contest of wits, who do you think will prevail: Hank or Walt? Why? Do you think Walt would kill Hank? Or Jesse?
how do walt and jesse get the ephedrine they use with all the restrictions on purchasing cold medications
The real love of Walt's life or the ultimate betrayer? It's very hard to gauge their true history. In Season 1, Gretchen was crying when she found out Walt had lung cancer. And yet, Walt remains very polite, remote and even superficial in any interactions with Gretchen (well, until "Peekaboo"). Was Gretchen condescending in her demands to know the truth and her threats to expose Walt's lies? Is the story of the origin of Gray Matter really about scientific-corporate theft , romantic retribution, and class warfare?
Aaron Paul has done a number of movies and television programs, but has never been as well recognized as he is in Breaking Bad. I myself believe he needs to be noticed for his work in Breaking Bad and by that I mean a Emmy or The Peoples Choice Award if not by some other means. Whats your opinion and feedback?
Talk about Episode 5, "Breakage."
here are a couple of gems from the last episode....
"I'm a fan of the hard wood" to his landlord.....lmfao
"Your fence is too easy to climb" to Clovis.....
CRANK IT UP was a nice touch too......the name of the tow co.
Could someone explain that bracelet to me ? I didn't get the significance. Thanks.
Why is last Sunday's episode "Breakage" NOT on line here yet for us to see before this Sunday's is aired?? That is totally weak...if they make us wait till the next episode then we totally ate lost and never catch up...what the heck is the deal with this? I want to view that episode now
I know the dude is dead and I don't believe in reincarnation but I thought he was a believeable character and funny too-maybe an older version of Tuco can come back on the scene as an uncle for some family revenge and mess with the DEA office for a change instead of vice a versa.
Is anyone familiar with the Japanese Cult Classic 'Ikiru'? It is the story of a city official who after discovering he has terminal lung cancer, realizes he has squandered his life on meaningless red tape and has no close family or friendships to lean on. He resolves to use his remaining time to usher an insignificant but popular civic project, a children's playground, through the bureaucracy he knows so well.
Sound familiar?
I am a recent fan of 'Breaking Bad', partaking of the recently released season 1 on DVD to watch at my leisure (I am the quintessential Soccer-dad). In my opinion, 'Breaking Bad' was the absolute best reincarnation Japan could have hoped for. I LOVE this show!!!
I'll be posting the first installment of my interview with actor Robert Trebor on www.cadolphmoores.com starting on Monday, April 13th. He'll be checking in from time to time throughout the week to answer your questions via the comment section. Perhaps best known for his work on the Xena and Hercules TV series, he's also appeared in films such as 52 Pick-Up, The Devil's Rejects, Talk Radio and Universal Soldier. Feel free to stop by and participate.
Since I've started a cult following here in my town its under heavy discussion what is going to happen at the end of this season. We see Walt's glasses and the bear being fished out of the pool, but where do we BB's really think this is leading to?
Give me all your takes on it. Whose pool is it?
Well, looks like Hank is movin' on up, with landing that big promotion! BUT, is he done with Jesse Pinkman? That had to have pissed off Hank in a big way to be involved in that gunfight with Tuco and nearly getting killed (which he's still feeling aftershocks from), and Jesse simply walks out of the DEA Station unscathed. I think while Hank is doing double-duty, he's gonna have his DEA co-workers watching Jesse, and possibly pulling one of Jesse's "distribution" buddies aside and telling them "You're now a confidential informant for us, or you're back in jail" What do you all think?
I was completely wrapped up in the FX show The Shield...then it ended....I'm Czarina. Anyone else here chuckling about the physical similarity of Hank Shrader to Vic Mackey?
.....or Jesse's new squeeze. C'mon, give Jesse a little loving! She seemed reminiscent of Elvira - the Younger Years, but bringing her into the picture could pose some interesting developments and problems, and keep some of Jesse's humanity intact. It wouldn't hurt to have a different female POV besides Skyler and Marie. Hey, Walt and Hank have their women, why shouldn't Jesse have his own woman (not Windy Wendy)? Let's vote!
Pilot episode - "We're watching our cholesterol."
S. 2 - Ep. 5 - "I thought we weren't eating those."
Funny how easy it is to slip into finger pointing when it's not your behavior being criticized.
Talk about Episode 4, "Down."
Okay, I only recently saw episode 4 (Down), and it seems that we're clearly being set up for something big, most likely at the end of season 2 -- that ends with toys and other detritus being skimmed out of the White family pool and placed into evidence bags. Speculation?
I'll venture a guess that Skyler gives birth, but that the infant doesn't make it to season 3, but instead ends up in the pool, courtesy of the reappearance of the "boys from Juarez".
Other thoughts as to this foreshadowing?
Okay so i was re watching one of the minisodes on the video player and well i re watched the awesome music video fallacies of course but what did i notice at the end that same pink bear that has been popping up in different episodes i just found it funny cause on episode 4 jesse was singing that so i go back and what do i see at the end... haha but ya did anyone else notice this i honestly seen it before but they put those out before the season 2 aired so i guess it never really poped in my mind.
Anybody know the etymology of that expression? It refers to the sexual prowess of the actor Errol Flynn (whom Walt referred to) and some allegations that he seduced young girls.
Some folks made predictions that Walt Jr. might lose his virginity this season. Is the new nickname a hint to that possibility?
I also want to take this opportunity to refute the current rumor that Walt Jr. is gay. It's my opinion and you don't have to agree with me, but I have a teenage boy! At the baby shower for Skyler, he was filming the breasts of all the women...so that is my proof against the rumor.
What are your ideas?
