Breaking Bad

Just a question because I am confused.
I tuned in to the original episodes of Breaking Bad. Then I know I remember there being a hiatus and then a second set of episodes. I would've called this "second set" Season 2. So am I imagining that there was a break between the initial offerings of Breaking Bad episodes and the second set of offerings?? Why aren't the episodes coming out in March '09 being described as Season 3??? I'm beginning to feel crazy here....

There was never a second set of episodes. AMC re-aired the first season (7 episodes) to coincide with the second season of Mad Men. Season 2 of Breaking Bad will premiere this March.
