So exciting and totally deserved!
Bryan Cranston is a genius on this show.
Glad to see breaking bad break free of mad men's shadow and snatch the spotlight it deserves!
Woo Hoo! We love you, Bryan!!
Totally earned! It was the best part of the night.. I watched the whole show just to see Bryan's category and then he won! Congratulations and let's see that second season now!!
I can't believe I missed the show. I read on the Internet someone else had won best actor. Then, I read the list of winners this morning and almost spilled my coffee all over my keyboard. Bryan won!!!!!! YES!!!! Congrats Bryan, you SO deserved this. I cannot wait for season 2!
Congratulations Brian!!! You really earned it. The story and characters drew me in and I was addicted from the very first episode. Hat's off to the entire cast & crew, your hard work has made for a fantastic series.
Yippee!!!!! I am so excited and thrilled that Bryan won! I just recently discovered this absolutely riveting show (the best show on tv as far as i'm concerned) and it makes me so happy (and shocked) that the emmys were smart enough to recognize his talent. It's so great to see him get the chance to really stretch his acting muscle and do so well. i can't wait for season 2. Thank you Bryan and AMC for bringing back excitement to TV. So long overdue. Congratulations Bryan!!!!!
:-)
What well-deserved recognition for an actor who, it would appear, is physiologically incapable of _not_ turning in one brilliant performance after another---no matter what the material!
I let out a barking yelp last night that I fear my neighbors heard when Best Actor was announced. It was one huge bright spot during a mostly dreadful show. What a tremendous, gratifying surprise for this hard-working actor and those of us to revel in his portrayal of Walter. (If you never watched "Malcolm in the Middle," do yourself a favor and catch the episodes in syndication. Cranston's portrayal of Hal demonstrates a range that is unmatched by any actor in the business. His was the genius that took a well-written comedy to another level.)
"Breaking Bad" is one of the best dramas ever---feature film or TV---and Bryan Cranston is pure, riveting entertainment. Vince Gilligan, as he did on "The X-Files", has given us a series that needs to be seen to be believed (how can it be that something this good is _not_ a book or on a movie screen but a TV series!)
Please forgive the length of this comment. I just couldn't resist---I am just so pleased for an actor who is so under-recognized and so truly deserving in a category he was not a shoo-in to win. I'm not a rep of AMC or Cranston's or Gilligan's---just a fan who delights when real actors, who take pride in their craft, are celebrated in this absurd, bizarro era in which so little skill and talent are foisted on us as celebrity and superstardom and crap series as "must see."
Congratulations and thank you, Bryan Cranston. To say you deserved to win this award is the understatement of any TV season.
CARI
This is a terrific show that I got absolutely hooked on because of the incredible performance of Bryan Cranston. There is a reason that AMC took home so many Emmys last night and it is because they have the guts to put on compelling and well made programming. Keep up the good work and I can't wait until season 2.
I have to agree with Cari! Bryan's acting talent is proven when you compare his portrayal of Hal (Malcolm in the Middle) and Hank (Breaking Bad). What absolutely opposite characters the two are and yet he did an amazing job in both roles. He deserves his Emmy and then some!
Boy this is the second blog I have blown this morning!! I meant to say " I have to agree with Cari! Bryan's acting talent is proven when you compare his portrayal of Hal (Malcolm in the Middle) and Walt (Breaking Bad). What absolutely opposite characters the two are and yet he did an amazing job in both roles. He deserves his Emmy and then some!" I guess it is time for me to take an internet break now! Sorry for the previous confusing comment.
