Saint Walt?
Have you ever heard of the concept of "sainting"? It refers to someone removing evidence after a person's death, so that a secret life can be kept from loved ones.
In the event that Walt is not found out before his death, do you think he would ask Jesse to clean up his effects so that his family didn't find out about the meth cooking? Would Jesse do it on his own, without being asked?
I've said several times before that Walt seems to be just a little scared of Skyler. To be fair, what I've really meant is that he doesn't want to disappoint her. He wants to meet her approval and to protect and provide for their family. The idea that he might not be able to frightens him, but he's also frightened that she might find out how he chose to meet his obligations. I think even death wouldn't remove this fear.
OK, one more spin on this topic: Skyler DOES find out. Would she hide the information from their daughter, Holly, as she grows up?

I like the thought of Jesse "sainting" Walt after his death, though I might take issue with the theory that he would do so because he "fears" Skyler. I would say that he in fact reveres her, and despises the thought of her thinking ill of him after he died. I think his fear of her reproval stems from mutual admiration and affection, not castration.
Now, would she hide from Holly? I suppose that were things to play out that Skyler finds out and no one else does, i.e. there is no evidence of his actions, no criminal record, etc. there would be no reason to tell Holly about it. Life is hard enough for a child, I don't know why one would take the extra step of demonizing an absent father who was, at the end of the day, only trying to provide. I suppose, eventually, when Holly was old enough to handle the information without acting out and becoming a meth addict or shacking up with Jesse, she could be told.
I agree that Walt loves Skyler very much and doesn't want to disappoint her. Perhaps I'm just using the wrong words to convey the level of emotion he has for her.
I can only hope that if Skyler finds out about the meth, she won't decide to ruin Walt's reputation as a father, whether he is around or not. Some people are bitter enough to do that sort of thing. I would like to think Skyler is smart enough and not just so overwhelmed by Walt's secret life that she will protect her child from feeling bad about his choices.
I Have Heard Of It
As a mother myself I sincerely hope Skylar, if she does find out about all of this, would chose to keep the truth about Walt from her children if at all possible.
I just don't see any reason to ever tell them if it can be avoided.
I wouldn't.
I also find myself wondering, if they're found out, if Jessie may take the fall on his own.
With everyone already seeing him as beyond help including his family and really even Walt might Jessie see himself as far more expendable than respectable family man Walt?
So much to ponder as we wait.
I would need this "sainting" done for me if I died before my Mother. I never thought about that before.Good looking out. Thanks
