"Art"
This is the first TV series since Twin Peaks that I would call art. This show rocks! Profuse thanks to everyone involved for providing us with this beautiful series - I really enjoy being able to look forward (excitedly) to the next episode.
I love every actor, but I must admit being partial to Aaron Paul. He is completely amazing. I thought about him, his character, and just what it is that makes a great actor all day today. Keep pushing it, make it explode. I wish the censors would give this show free rein to do whatever the hell it wants. (I wish that about all shows, but this one really deserves the freedom to go wherever it is that it needs to go.) Just beautiful. And Aaron, if you're ever in Cleveland, look me up, PLEASE. Thanks again to all involved for the ART.

I agree--Aaron Paul completely jumped off the screen for me. What a surprise to find such a talented actor. When I first saw the show, the only thing I knew him from was a cameo in National Lampoon's Van Wilder (I haven't yet watched the second season of Big Love). And to see such a remarkable acting performance from him was really a pleasure.
Now I just have to watch Twin Peaks -- after Blue Velvet and Mulholland Drive, I'm not ashamed to admit I'm a bit leery....
Clayton,
"Jumped off the screen" is an excellent way of saying it - right into my living room, and this character, Jesse, right into my life. And it's so cool that Mr. Paul has this amazing ensemble in which to function - especially that he is working so closely with "Walter White". Every main character is doing an incredible job. Great casting, but it's really up to these actors, and wow, I'm impressed with everyone. Walter Jr. really moves me, Dean Norris is fantastic - but again, everyone.
I love the careful way this show is presented - the colors, the set design, the smart editing that doesn't pander to the lowest intelligence. A great idea from Vince Gilligan that has managed to become a reality, somehow, in this vast wasteland of mostly idiotic TV.
I might be the biggest David Lynch fan on the planet. I taught a course in the Twin Peaks series here at The Cleveland Institute of Art for several years. (I am an artist and art instructor.) I've been seeing films since I was 5 years old, and INLAND EMPIRE is definitely the most beautiful work of art I have seen in any medium - but I understand many people would not agree at all.
Anyway, we're supposed to be talking about Breaking Bad....
