The Cost of Chemo
I like the show but, you're not showing the real cost of cancer. You show Walt writing a $1900.00 check as he leaves the treatment center. My wife has been taking treatments for 6 years and has been on several different drugs. Not one treatment has cost less than $5000.00. If you're going to glorify the value of meth as something to use to pay for expensive cancer treatments, let's get the true cost of cancer treatments represented!

I'm sorry for your personal struggle. And I understand your contempt. Not me, but my father and mother are both cancer survivors. I think that there is something to be said about the idea of what is coming across in this show. Trust me, I like it too, and more than you know I understand the cost of cancer because I research cancer for a living. When you really get down to it its such a complex thing, biologically, but personally I understand that none of that matters: because of it we are losing the people we love.
My heart goes out to you, and best wishes to you and your family. We do as best we can to figure out why cancer happens, and how to oppose it. For the betterment of you and your family and for mine, and for all, lets keep seeking.

This is a show and I don't think that anyone should take a personal offence to the actual price of cancer treatment. My grandmother died of cancer and we didn't see a bill for anything. Due to this heath card that we have here in Canada. If everyone sat and judged the reality of what goes on the TV, then it wouldn't be fun. How do we know what a gun shot sounds like? Or what happends when you get shot in real life, I don't know but I bet there is people that do. Or that guy that actually makes METH, he's on his couch saying " thats not how you make METH, I don't see him on here making a comment. Anyways enough of that. This show is a great show and I look forward to every Sunday night. Keep on writing and I'll keep on watching. Thank you, Clayton
I LOVE THE SHOW!
As for the cost of cancer, I just went through 2 years of chemotherapy (knock on wood) and it's really expensive! I have insurance, but I did see the bills and 1 BAG of chemo administered via IV cost around $8,000 - $10,000 (depending on the treatment).
The sickness and nausea is horrible, and "Walt" really does appear sick in the show. He has a little too much energy for being on chemo, but it's sure a great show!!
I have to comment here, probaly against my better judgement, but here goes. I am a cancer survivor (cervical cancer), I am 29 and was diagnosed 2 years ago. Luckily I had already had my 2 children (twins). As to the cost of treatment, remember guys, this is a show. There are a lot of minor misrepresentations on the show, but it is a show. It also is a great representation of the manic feeling you get when first diagnosed, trying to be super human for all of your loved ones. Walt shows us what alot of cancer patients think when diagnosed, "How will my family go on, if I die.How will they live and survive"? This is such an incredible show and wish it a long run.
