Breaking Bad Cast and Creator Thrill Comic-Con Fans at Packed Panel

Bob Odenkirk, RJ Mitte, Aaron Paul, Bryan Cranston, Dean Norris, Anna Gunn, Vince GilliganMore than 7,000 eager fans packed San Diego Comic-Con International’s Hall H Sunday afternoon for what was undoubtedly one of the convention’s most anticipated events: The Breaking Bad panel for the final eight episodes of AMC’s seminal series. The panel was moderated by Chris Hardwick, who delighted everyone in the room by announcing that he will host a new live after show, Talking Bad, which is scheduled to premiere on Sun., Aug. 11th at 11PM/10c and will serve as a companion to Breaking Bad‘s final episodes.

Following this announcement was the world premiere of the Breaking Bad Countdown Mashup Trailer, a two-and-a-half minute supercut of all the series’ most dramatic moments to date. When the lights came back on, Hardwick brought show creator and executive producer Vince Gilligan and cast members Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, RJ Mitte, Anna Gunn, Bob Oderkirk and Dean Norris out on stage.

Cranston crossed the stage quietly in full Heisenberg costume complete with shaven head and goatee. As Hardwick asked the first question of Cranston, the Emmy-winning actor leaned into the microphone, hesitated and pulled off what turned out to be an incredibly life-like latex Heisenberg mask made by an adoring fan. He then admitted that he’d been walking the convention floor disguised as his own character, posing for people’s photos and answering their questions in a higher-pitch voice so no one had even suspected. AMC Announces Chris Hardwick as Host of Talking Bad, Premiering August 11

Talking Dead (Season 1)AMC announced today that Chris Hardwick will host Talking Bad, a weekly, half-hour live after-show and companion piece for its Emmy Award-winning series, Breaking Bad. Talking Bad will analyze and examine every detail of Breaking Bad’s final eight episodes beginning Sun., Aug. 11 at 11/10c, and is produced by Michael Davies’ Embassy Row in association with Sony Pictures Television.

Talking Bad features Hardwick spending time with fans, actors, producers and television enthusiasts, recapping the most recent Breaking Bad episode, and taking questions and comments from viewers. Fans may continue to engage with the after-show following the on-air conclusion, online, at for more videos, weekly polls and photo galleries of the guests featured on the series.

“We have had so much success with Chris Hardwick and Talking Dead, the show-talking-about-a-show that attracted more than five million live viewers after last season’s The Walking Dead finale,” said Joel Stillerman, AMC’s EVP of original programming, production and digital content. “An after-show hosted by Chris seemed like the perfect way to pay homage to and countdown the final eight episodes of Breaking Bad, giving fans the opportunity to come together and talk about the end of this iconic series brought to life by creator Vince Gilligan and his amazing cast and crew.”

Chris Hardwick commented, “Breaking Bad will go down as one of the best shows in television history. Obviously, it’s tonally much different than The Walking Dead, and I will strive to give Breaking Bad the send off it deserves. I am honored to be able to give fans a peek behind the curtain for the last eight episodes so we can all say goodbye to it together. AMC will tell you that it’s because of the success of Talking Dead or my friendship with the BB cast that they asked me to host this, but I maintain it probably has more to do with my unmistakable resemblance to Jesse Pinkman, BITCH.”
