Today the Directors Guild of America announced their nominees for the 65th annual DGA awards, and Breaking Bad director Rian Johnson was honored with a nod in the Dramatic Series category for his work on Season 5 Episode 4, "Fifty-One." In addition, Breaking Bad's Emmy-winning star Bryan Cranston received a nomination in the Comedy Series category for his direction of an episode of ABC's Modern Family.

The Dramatic Series nomination is Breaking Bad's second to date, with Vince Gilligan receiving honors in 2012 for his direction of the Season 4 Finale, "Face-Off." For this year's award, Johnson will face the directors of Showtime's Homeland, HBO's The Newsroom and AMC's own Mad Men. (Click here to learn more about Mad Men's nomination.)

The winners will be announced at the DGA Awards Dinner on Sat. Feb. 2 in Los Angeles.
