Breaking Bad Receives Three Satellite Award Nominations

Today the International Press Academy announced its nominess for the 2012 Satellite Awards, and Breaking Bad was honored with three nominations: the series has been nominated for the Best Drama Series award while Bryan Cranston (Walter White) and Giancarlo Esposito (Gustavo Fring) received nods in the Best Actor in a Drama Series and Best Actor in a Supporting Role categories, respectively.
Breaking Bad will face stiff competition for the Drama award: FX's Justified, PBS's Downton Abbey, HBO's Game of Thrones and The Newsroom, CBS's The Good Wife, Showtime's Homeland and ABC's Nashville are also nominated.
In the Drama Actor category, Cranston faces off against The Newsroom's Jeff Daniels, Homeland's Damian Lewis, Justified's Timothy Olyphant, Elementary's Jonny Lee Miller and Jon Hamm from AMC's own Mad Men. (Click here to learn more about Mad Men's Satellite nominations.)
In the Supporting Actor category, Esposito's competition is no less fierce: Game of Thrones's Peter Dinklage, American Horror Story's Evan Peters, Justified's Neil McDonough, Downton Abbey's Jim Carter and Nashville's Powers Boothe are also nominated.
In addition to Mad Men and Breaking Bad's nominations, AMC's The Walking Dead also received a Satellite nod in the Best Television Series, Genre category as well as a Speical Acheivement Award for Best Ensemble, Television. (Click here to learn more about The Walking Dead's nominations.)
The awards will be presented during a ceremony on Sun., Dec. 16
