UPDATE: We are no longer taking questions at this time. Click here to read Bryan's responses.

Hello Bryan, love the show, love your acting, I would love to know what your family thinks of the show, being the topic material that it is? Get any flak for the part or has it been pretty well received?
Walter White drives one of the ugliest and most embarrassing cars to be on the road: The Pontiac Aztek.
I would assume you have much better taste in cars! ...but are there any cars you'd be embarrassed to admit you once owned?
What was your first car?
I absolutely love the show. What I really love is the acting. It's rare to see these days. Do you film in NM? I wish I had something clever to ask...
Where does Vince come up with such crazy moments and have you ever worked with anyone like him?
Hey Bryan! Badly addicted to this show! Great Job! Is the house used for the Walter White residence somebody's actual house in Abq, or just a set? Plus, in relation to the vehicle question above, wouldn't you be rather driving around in that classic Grand Wagoneer that Skyler uses instead of that Aztec?
Hey Bryan, Your choice of Footwear (Wallabee's) and Music (Steely Dan), clearly show that your character was a product of the 70's. Was this your idea to includes these bits?
Are you getting used to the Mr.Clean look ?
Do you like it now, and will you possibly wear it in your normal life ?
I'm not asking for plot details, but can you imagine Walt ever finding redemption?
Hello Mr. Cranston; thanks for what will no doubt be another great season of the best thing my eyes have viewed on a television since well, I'm not sure when and I have a great memory. Anyway-I became a fan of your work while hospitalized with meningitis and ended up watching "Malcom in the Middle" on a daily basis while bedridden. Afterwards, I came acrsoss "Breaking Bad" and after passing it up a few times, caught onto the storyline, watched it once, played catch-up and like Heisenberg's customers have been hooked since! I liked it so much that I turned my girlfriend onto the show. It soon became a Sunday regular for us and now I'm about to propose to her, most likely after the March 28th episode! I guess my question for you is how do you feel personally about your role as a family man who doubles as "Heisenberg" and maybe secondly, if you have any suggestions to guarantee me a yes on the biggest question I'll be asking this month! Thanks, -Matt (j_nash_archie) or mattlobarnes@yahoo.com and best wishes!
are there any writers from macom in the middle on the breaking bad staff? The comedy in critical situations seems to be a common plot line between those two shows. I think Walt should have a fling with Lilly Thia while Skyler is gone?
Hi Bryan! You have the same name as me, just spelled with a y!
Anyways, what was it like catching rattlesnakes with Jeff Corwin?
I also wanna know, how you went from a comedic role in "Malcolm In The Middle", to such a dramatic role in "Breaking Bad"?
Thankyou
Bryan,
Now the advent of season three - to the very end of the series would you like to see Walter return safely to his old normal life or should Walter and or his family pay some major price for the decisions Walter has made. Further if given a choice would you rather see Walter or Jessee succeed in the end and why?
We're having pizza tonight...=)
Would you like a slice?
LOL! diksee, I love your question!
"Breaking Bad" pizza party! I'll take mine
with mushrooms and black olives.
Hi Walt....uh I mean Bryan! Your portrayal of Walter is so convincing, you may as well be living the role. Love the show, got my family hooked on it now too. My question is "Which scene and/or episode was the most difficult for you to shoot and why?" Thanks for your time and keep up the excellent work on this addicting show!
Hi Bryan! How much knowledge of chemistry did you actaully have prior to the show? Did you learn more about chemistry after playing this role?
Bryan, I love your amazing portrayl of Walt.
My question is, how do you feel about Walter White? Do you think he deserves to go to prison for the rest of his life, or do you think there is redemption for him?
Mr. Cranston, I have never written to anyone in this format before but I just recently discovered BB and I just simply have to tell you that your acting on this show just blows me away. Honestly, you totally pull all of us in so that we can see the wheels turning in your head...I am exhausted after each episode so cannot imagine how you guys must feel. The connection between your character and Jesse's is like a marriage/friend/enemy/every relationship rolled into one.Amazing chemistry, no pun intended. Did you know Aaron Paul(the actor who plays Jesse-hope I got that right) before this show,?.Also, have you directed and if so, which episodes? You guys are the best on tv. Sincerely. Thank you for the caliber of work that you all give us each week. You are my new guilty pleasure.
Mr Cranston
First, I have to say as an actor, you make the craft beautiful to watch. Even on Malcolm In The Middle, I always found your performance engaging. In the Season 2 premiere, I noticed you directed the episode. Will you be directing more episode of the show and is that a direction, in general, you're interested in pursuing more on and off the show?
Aaron
When did you become a hardass?
When I watched Walt watch Jane die, my first reaction was "OMG, BC is an amazing actor (that single tear) AND Walt is really a bad guy." The next day I had to admit that if Jessie were my child, I would've probably done the same thing if I thought it would save him. Please describe what you were thinking as you were playing that scene. As Bryan, what would you do to save your child?
Since many of your roles before Breaking bad were comedic, are you going to start doing more serious roles, are try to do both, or just whatever interests you?
Marry me?
Since most of your roles were comedic before Breaking bad, are you going to start doing more serious roles, or both, or whatever interests you?
Bryan,
A lot of actors say that every role they play leaves a mark on who they are and that each role sticks with them in some way. What parts of Walt do you think have stuck with you, or might have been there to begin with?
Also, there has been such great character development and duality in this character, what makes you identify with each part of Walt/Heisenberg to allow you to play them so effectively and believably?
Thanks! Can't wait to see the new season!
So I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical about the storyline of this show at at first since I am such a big Weed's fan. However, I was hooked immediately because of the depth of the characters and how much emotion was involved, and of course the great acting that enabled that to take place. Did you immediately know this was a role you wanted to play or did it take some persuasion?
Also, as everyone knows, the acting in this show is amazing. I feel that you do such a great job with this character because of your facial expressions alone, and I would say this has been a signature part of your acting (at least to me). Do you focus strongly on your expression or is that something that is just natural?
Thanks for providing such great entertainment!
Do you watch other TV series? If you do, your favorite is? why? Thanks.
"Is that really make up or did you really age that fast?" No, seriously, you looked so much younger on Malcom In The Middle.
Hello Bryan. I was wondering if you have to do anything to get into the Heisenburg state of mind or does it come naturally? If so what do you do? Also how often do you snag a piece of rock candy meth for a snack?
Bryan,
What's it like being so damn awesome?
There are many scenes where you "lack clothing". do you ever use a body double? Have you had many other experiences doing scenes like this and are these scenes uncomfortable at all?
Hello, Bryan.
First of all, thank you for the greatest television drama I have seen in years. It's a shame "Breaking Bad" is so little known here in Europe, as I think people over here would adore it if they only got a chance to see it! :)
Now for my question:
Many similarities can be drawn between Walt and the tragic heroes found in the Greek, Roman and Shakespearean theatre. If you look at Walt from this perspective, what do you believe is his character's most significant tragic flaw?
Bryan, what do you think about the new show "In the Middle" that was an apparent attempt to recreate "Malcolm in the Middle"? Don't worry, nothing will replace that show.
Bryan, how does working on such an intense character compare to say, a funny one, like we're used to seeing from you. And did you ever think you'd be filming in Albuquerque in your lifetime?-
Signed, One of the Chicken Brothers.
I WOULD LIKE TO SAY FIRST OFF, I LOVE THIS SHOW IT IS ONE OF MOST RELEVANT SHOWS IN TELEVISION HISTORY AND ONE OF THE BEST. I LOVED YOUR CHARACTER ON "MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE" BUT YOU AS WALTER WHITE/HEISENBERG YOU ARE THE EPITOMY OF ONE OF THE MOST OUTSTANDING ACTORS IN THIS GENERATION. I DONT HAVE A QUESTION,JUST WANTED TO SAY I LIKED SEASON ONE AND TWO AND IM LOOKING FORWARD TO SEAON THREE....
Q: A lot of people love the show so much because of how real it is. Reading all the blogs, you wouldn't have to look hard to find comments that state just that. Having said that, I'm sure you are aware of how very real the violence in Jaurez (very recent headlines this past week are a very good example), and all around Mexico really is. Does participating in such a show that portrays, and and brings to light, a very real, and very dangerous, violent, and powerful group of people concern you?
Walt the scene of you in college breaking down the parts of the human body the percentages chemically and what remained yet to be identified sparked my mind. The woman with you then became your best friends wife. And this close buddy of yours went on into financial bliss and marriage using your brilliant mind and probably stole your girlfriend. Your gift to them was yet another glimpse into your soul. Your students had the best teacher hands down. Correct me if I'm wrong but I see clearly those that can do, do really teach. Our whole Nation must see how upside down we are. The places of enrichment are giving credit where credit is not due, runaway portfolios. Our children learn earlier and earlier that competition in careerville means you hang up your morals at the door where you leave your hat. Walt you made up your mind to start dishing out your own medicine and I'm not one to judge but I think it was better than deciding on screwing your students. Our economy is pushing us all over the cliff. We can't fix it with insurance and punishment fees because the basic neccessities of life cost too much and our rich heroes believe that they are still entitled to more. You GO WALTER and teach us who we really are. This whole nation is watching you. Will you not make us wait so long in the mean time?
Hello Bryan. I would love to know how your expierence directing the episode you did, and if you would like to do another episode in the future and if Vince would let you.
I'm not only fascinated with your amazing performance in the show but also the amazing chemistry. Do you, at times, ever get amazed by the scientific chemistry presented to your character? You know, do you ever get that thought of " can you really do that in real life " when presented with all of these crazy situations that incorporate real chemistry( for example the scene when you first present yourself as "Heisenberg" )
Also, out of the actors that were also nominated along with you in last years Emmy awards, who's performance do you like the most or find the most fascinating( mine being Michael C. Hall in Dexter )?
Mr. Cranston your performance of Walt is outstanding. I started watching Breaking Bad during the first season. It was very interesting for me considering that in April of 2008 I was diagnosed with cancer, had surgeries, and underwent chemotherapy. I must say that the writing and your acting of Walt's character really hit home with me. Especially his initial reaction upon receiving his diagnosis. I had not seen any of the episodes when I was initially going through dealing with my diagnosis. Watching Walt's indecisiveness about revealing his diagnosis, withdrawling from everyone in his life, and going through the "motions" of living, was like looking in a mirror. It was something that was all too real for me. Your acting of Walt's character during this time was incredibly honest and true. A big thumbs up to the writers also. I can honestly say that I understand Walt, and know how he feels. Especially during the second season with his anger and attitude of "doing whatever it takes". I've been hooked since the first season and rarely miss an episode. I am looking forward to watching season three and your performance.
Dear Bryan
i have never seen a television actor with such diversity. You are extremely talented. i hesitated to watch Breaking Bad because i am a big fan of Malcolm in the Middle and i thought if i saw "Hal" doing something bad, i would not be able to enjoy Malcolm in the Middle again. However, you play both characters with such convincing perfection, that I can enjoy both shows without associating one with the other. My question is this: Hal and Mr. White are very different men. did playing two such different characters make you look inside yourself with regard to your own character defects, shortcomings or fears? Thanks!
Have you had the opportunity to be a tourist in Albuquerque since you've been filming there? What's your favorite spot?
Ok so.......my buddy and I are huge fans of the show!!!! We are curious to know what kind of music influences you have?? What do you listen to now? Can't wait until the premiere and we can't wait to brag about how Bryan Cranston responded to our question!!!!
Bryan, you truly are a credit to your profession and proven yourself to be incredibly versatile as demonstrated by the mastery of your performance in both Malcolm in the Middle and Breaking Bad. Congratulations to your much deserved success! My question for you is where would you like to see the series go in regards to your character? What developments would you like to see in Walt or Heisenbergs character? Thank you for the great enjoyment you have provided. I look forward to this next season and your continued success. Frank D.
Like I've mentioned before, my ex-Husband passed away last Summer, after battling cancer off & on, for the last few years. =(
I would like to say, on his behalf, that he absolutely loved Breaking Bad, and watching your accurate portrayal of what he was going through!
Thank you SO much for your brilliant acting, and giving him a character he could identify with & laugh about (in your funny scenes) during that difficult part in his life!!! =)
Thanks again,
Gina
My question is: Have the scenes where Walt is being bullied, and he starts retaliating with growing ferocity as "Heisenberg", affected how you react & deal with certain uncomfortable situations now?
Hey Bryan, I think you are a good actor, however, I don't think that this is your best role, and can imagine you as a very diverse and deep actor in a great new thriller movie. I am sorry, I don't like the series much, although I believe that you have done a fine job. What do you believe should be done to fight drug use and drug crimes in the U.S.? But of course if there were no drug use, then there would be no drug crimes I suppose. What is your idea for a workable solution?
Bryan, since the RollerBlade Episode on Malcolm I knew you were the real deal. I'm always pleased to see your fellow Malcolm cast mates in other dramas, producing etc. What a talented cast of people that was.
It's my hope that sometime in the future there is a Breaking Bad movie, or series thereof.. Is there any thought towards that or is it too soon to speculate?
The best and most accurate review of yours that I've seen reads:
"Bryan Cranston continues to amaze.."
SB Forde
Hey Brian, absolutely love the show, it's in my opinion the most original show on tv and you totally deserve both emmys for the role.
My question is, how involved are you in Walt's story arc? Do you talk with the writers and producers about the character and influence the directions he goes in and how he develops or do you pretty much just stay out of that and play what's on the page, or something in between?
Thanks!
red or green ?
What about making the character even scarier by pumping some iron? You know the bald head and no neck could really scare some of the other bad guys.
Why did you choose this role? Drugs and being a drug dealer are not really "safe" or "politically correct" and not really a sure fire way to promote your career. What was it exactly that made you look at this role let alone take it as far as you have.
Hi Brian! Love this show! Love the dynamic between you, Jesse and Saul. Your scenes together are fantastic! Do you guys improvise a lot? How does their acting affect yours? PS: Can't wait to see more of you and Gus -- that seems like it's going to be a very intriguing relationship!
I was really looking forward to the season premiere, and am very disappointed especially after all the so called action packed hype.... Very disappointed...very boring...may not watch it for the season...would not recommend it to others...SAD SAD SAD!!!!!!!!
Hi Bryan,
My husband and I love the show. We live in Portsmouth Virginia and want to know why Portsmouth was mentioned in the scene between Jesse and his therapist in the season 3 premiere. Is there a connection between Portsmouth and one of the writers on the show?
We love Portsmouth's 1 second of fame. Keep up the good work
Cat Bunn
Bryan,
How can I be an extra on an episode. Nobody can walk from one spot to another in the background like I can!
Bryan,
I'm not much of a television watcher, but at the end of season one a friend made me watch the season finale. I have been hooked since. The acting in the show and, quite honestly, your acting over all is the best I've seen on any television show. I really only have two questions:
1. What attracted you to this show? Was it the story or just the opportunity itself to play a role that is so much different than all your other roles?
2. What kind of research did you do to prepare yourself for such a controversial, yet addicting role?
Thank you for such an amazing character.
Was it necessary to us so much of the Periodic Table in the show?
Bryan, do you plan to do any movie roles in the future as a similar type of character? Personally, I think you could easily pull off an evil mastermind that everyone could root for.
What is it like playing the part that you play with Walt being a normal guy who is exploring his darker side? You said that you relate to Walt in some of the troubles that he experiences. I mean aside from your tremendous acting ability was Walt's character a perfect part for you being that you could relate to him or is it difficult sometimes?
p.s Like your directing skills!
Thank you Vince for creating this awesome show I watch it and it consumes my thinking for a couple hours sometimes longer you know your watching something great when a show can do that.
Man, how do you say, "you're amazing" to an actor without it coming across as empty flattery and "celebrity worship?" I guess the most honest and truly complementary thing that I could say to you is that I deeply envy you, Bryan. It must be a powerful feeling to commit so completely to a role, a character, and then to see your efforts, combined with everyone's, come together to form a dark masterpiece.
For me, the show has an important message, among many, about not living in fear; one that you have to work for by bearing witness to a blissfully uncomfortable descent into immorality and lawlessness. Thank you for delivering that message to those steeled enough to receive it with such elegance and form. Maybe if we all lived in a little less fear, then we could become objects of envy instead of victims of our own feelings of inadequacy.
That being said, my question is a trivial one, literally. You look fierce in the black Porkpie hat. What is the exact make/model/manufacturer of that hat?
Mr Cranston,
You directed the first episode of season 3 (great job); how was the experience ? Also, do you want some creative control withe a character as dynamic as Walt or do you enjoy learning more about him like we do each week?
Bryan, how did your experience of going from an "unknown" to an "A-lister" effect your performance of Walter as he transforms in a darker context?
I wanted to post to Vince actually; despite being a avid fan... Why ? I'm somewhat confused about SEASON 3 EP 1. Watched it all 3 times mostly; Yeah my SERVICE does run... I am very confused about the Juarez?/Mex Dudes ? Don't get the connection to the previuos season or initially.... But got a feeling it may/will become understood later...
It's got me nuts ! Hoods through an OLD RITUAL , then sneak'n into the USA ? I'm get'n dry now...
Bryan -
Outstanding work on this show by all associated with it. The Season 3 opener blew me away. Totally brilliant.
Questions:
1. You have produced fewer episodes over a two year period that the typical TV show. Has this contributed to the writers and actors building such tight plotting and nuanced characters? When you go on location to shoot in New Mexico, do you feel the same time pressure as a studio shoot? How long are you on location to film a season?
2. Walt is more than a spurned scientist or cancer patient or a or even a meth cook. He is a serial murderer. He has used gas, a garrote, ricin, and inaction to kill or try to kill four different people up close and personal in a very short period of time. Granted that his financial problems, marital problems, medical problems and drug business problems are overwhelming him, isn't his denial really driven by his inability to accept the blood (or even jelly - wonderful scene!) on his hands?
3. Given that Walt is diving into increasingly darker and darker levels of the soul, isn't it increasingly hard as an actor to elicit audience sympathy for him and his plight? Is Breaking Bad destined to transform from a character drama to a character study as the audience becomes increasingly horrified at Walt ? Or at some point will Walt flip from being the protagonist to the antagonist with the show changing focus to a different sympathetic character?
My money is on a still different path that will continue to break the mold and continue to amaze me. Best wishes to you and the team along side of you. Kudos on what you have all accomplished here.
Since you've been inside Walter's head I'm thinking you know him better than anyone else. So with that in mind what do YOU feel should be Walt's consequences ? Should there be redemption and a happy ending something more punative ?
I'd also like to know about the reference to Portsmouth, Virginia. I assume that there's a writer who has lived in or has an interest in Portsmouth? Because the therapist was right about the ABC stores. :)
Hello Bryan, Kudo's on winning the Emmy twice! In the first season I asked you about your thoughts on directing some episode's. Now that you've thrown your hat in the ring by directing including directing season 3's opening. What other areas in the process would you like to stretch your legs?
i wondered for last several months if skyler and baby died in plane crash..why did show, or my cable company, spoil it by writing in preshow description that skyler is angrier than ever?
in last season finale they show your car windshield is severely cracked (zoot suit guy taking photos of it), but in ep 1 season 3 when you and flynn are inside car the windshield is fine, and when you drive out of driveway it is fine. when jesse gets in at rehab it is only minor crack. such discrepancy for such an excellent show. why the errors?
Bryan, some of the scenes in the premiere (particularly the opening) seemed like they were inspired by Sergio Leone. Were the scenes in Mexico supposed to be some sort of tribute?
Walt seems more restricted physically. Is this from refining the character or part of the arc of Walt’s story? (…or am I imagining this). I feel this tightness is true to the character and that Walt’s gestures were, at times, a little too broad (Ep. 105).
What is the backstory about the Fourth of July weekend when Walt walked out on Gretchen? What really happened? The restaurant scene (in the episode “Peekaboo”) between Walt and Gretchen may be the key to the whole series. It tells us Walt’s character flaw existed before, and has hurt him before. Is it pride or fear? Which was it that drove him to walk out on Gretchen (and Gray Matter)? She spoke of a Fourth of July in Newport with her father and brothers. Did Gretchen’s family say something condescending to Walt or was it simply that he was intimidated by her world of wealth and privilege? I know what it’s like to have a dream within my grasp, but lose my grip to oily fear.
“Peekaboo” is my favorite episode. Great work by J Roberts, Vince Gilligan, Peter Medakand, and the techs on the details in the Spooge hovel scenes: the makeup, the boy picking at the gaffer tape on the sofa, marshmallow cream and a bagel the only food in the house, the padlock on the boy’s bedroom door, the boy’s reaction when his mother hits Jesse’s head with a bottle. A friend was an EMT in southern Oregon, a spawning ground for the meth epidemic. She’s been to such scenes and was amazed by the realism. She couldn’t watch the whole episode at once.
Thanks for reading.
As an actor which sucks more: realizing that a scene, that you thought was great, was omitted/deleted or noticing that a scene, that you thought was subpar, is included in the final cut?
Also, which do you prefer: Cheetos, Cheez Doodles, or Trader Joe's Baked Cheese Crunchies?
I remember you saying last season that you are no more privy to "what's gonna happen next" than the rest of us. That being said, how difficult is it to direct some episodes? I mean, are you given a little bit more of a "heads up" from Vince and the writers so you can at least know what the characters are thinking and/or plotting? BTW, kudos to you because directing, especially yourself, can't be that easy. It's obviously one sign of what a greatly talented man you are.
I see that there are some directing questions on this thread, so I'll toss mine in too. Do you direct with any more insight to story development than the other actors have? Yes or no, directing yourself proves that you are a remarkably artist. Is it difficult to wear both hats at the same time?
Killer work! I'm sure that you can't stand this typical weird "biz" B.S. so here's my question...Do you think that good people who have been overwhelmed and cross that imaginary line of good/evil deserve some kind of rehabilitation program instead of being locked up for years in an ineffective system? How about them apples. God Bless man!
Do you still have the tighty whities you wore for the pilot in season one? Have you bronzed them?
Jennifer
In the first two seasons the characters seemed to wear similar colored clothing for each episode. Walt's was green, Jesse's were orange and red, Hank's was orange, and Skyler's was blue. This was up until the end of the season 2 finale when Walt wore a bright pink sweater. Now in the premiere Walt wore black and gray and Jesse was the one wearing green. Do you think there is any significance to this?
Brent
Hi! What's the physical regimen to make Walter White look frail, and yet keep Bryan Cranston healthy?
Hi Brian! I think you and Jesse, as well as you, Jesse and Saul have some hilarious scenes together. I love the humor in the show!! What's it like as an actor to have to switch between the heavy scenes and the hilarious scenes -- because the mood can change pretty quickly in this show!
Awards and accolades to you brilliant people for your ascting and a wonderful show. The sad thing is I find myself promoting it like all the other geeks I've looked down upon in my life , thinking, "don't they have a life besides waiting every week for the new episode of some stupid show?" Got to be the best thing I've seen in twenty years or more. Honestly, Superb.Suckitup
fantastic show, and i love all the actors. i hope skyler challenges walt more than carmela soprano challenged tony. also, why is skyler progressively wearing more makeup and showing more cleavage as time goes by? i mean, she is really hot, but nooooooo!
Hi Brian
Meant you here in Abq, at the State Fair. Just want you to know that I and my wife are watching season 3...great, great show! What I should tell you, I did work for DOE and had to work at the Labs in New Mexico and across the country. Before I ever saw your Program "Breaking Bad". I would deal allot with these scientist in the Labs, and in the back of my mind, I always wondered if one of these guys could ever go the other way ( Fab Drugs). The Lab Scientist are a different breed. Then you show comes on TV..I guess its not to far fitch, because if I was just thinking it and a show was made, based upon chemistry and taking the different route !!! Well, lets hope it never happens for real. I wish you success, and you are a "good guy". Always show the pic of you and me to my friends, and it was very nice of you to take your time to take that pic with me. And now my friends watch the show as a result of that pic.. Take Care Bill
Great episode, Mr. C. Can you talk about some the creative decisions you made as a director on the episode? For example, describe how you came up with some of the imagery in the teaser and how hard was it to sustain suspense over the whole episode showing the killers entering the U.S.? The staff did a great job with editing and cinematography too. I particularly liked how the violence inside the truck was handled. It made the final shot (truck exploding as death marches on) all the more powerful. Oh, some fine damn acting too! Ciao, AR
Hi Bryan. I was just wondering if there was a reason that there is no Breaking Bad merchandise for sale. I would really like to have a cool shirt showing my support towards the show. Thanks!
I am mostly fan of sci-fi, but Breaking Bad hooked me. BB is so good with well balanced action and deep psychological essence of every character.
Lately many series have ended abruptly or with some illogical ending. Some started good but now become repetitive and boring because of lack of new ideas. What I wish to ask - please do not end BB series with some premature, in-a-hurry ending. IIf one day you feel that there is nothing more left to say in BB, then do a nice finale, do not allow the series to vegetate and die slowly. What started so good, must have a marvelous ending, so people never forget the BB.
The scene that touched me personally, was the scene in the first season, where Walt actively protected his son from mockers in the cloth shop. I myself am visually impaired and have went through much humiliation because of this, so I know how it is when the insult grows inside but I cannot protect myself. Well, Walt thought he has nothing to lose so he can protect his family for 100%, and I was on his side in that scene.
Thanks for the great show and greetings form a small country Latvia!
How does it feel to be on one of the most bald friendly shows on television?
Walt, Hank, the cousins, Saul's "problem solver", etc.
Hell even the bizzaro-Walt that he confronted in the parking lot at the end of 'Over' was bald.
Hey Bryan, How hard was it to go from the comedic role of Hal on Malcolm in the Middle to the serious role of Walt on Breaking Bad? Also you are a phenomenal actor, keep up the good work!
Hey Bryan, Would Walt like to have his car supercharged? Maybe some Nos?
A tad more horsepower for that Pontiac would'nt hurt lol.
Hey Bryan, huge fan. How hard was it to lost all that weight and getting use to your cancerous character?
Congrats!!! Now that you've won two Emmys, for Lead Actor in a Drama Series...for two years in a row...
Are you going to have them emblazoned with the Breaking Bad Logo & made into cufflinks?? =\
Ha ha ha!!!
Big hugs!!
Gina aka diksee
Hi Bryan,
How's it feel to be in the shoes of a critical thinking middle class man who constantly has his hands full of personal issues?
Do you ever feel sympathy while playing the character himself?
Regards,
V
Hey Bryan! My husband and I love BrBa!! Our daughter who lives in ABQ turned us on to it. We are now dedicated fans.
Where do you find the actors for the drug dealers, gangs, etc? It always appears they were just hauled in off the streets from a real drug deal!
We'll be in ABQ in April, let's do lunch!
First, thanks for your part in such a great show! The very end of the episode "Phoenix" where Walt watches Jane die was one of the heaviest things I've ever seen in film or TV. Was there a lot of discussion about that scene, or did it go as it was planned from the start? Did you need a stiff drink, afterwards? It seems like a scene where the cast and crew sort of pauses after it's over, almost out of respect for the power. Keep up the great work!
Hello Bryan!
First off... I LOVE LOVE LOVE the show! I am amazed each week with your acting. At first when I saw the trailer for Breaking Bad I wasn't sure you could pull this one off... But you did with FLYING COLORS! I love to see the depth of your roles and I loved you in Malcolm in the Middle!! Ok now for my question:
What is your favorite episode thus far??

Hi Brian,
Season Two of Breaking Bad was the best season of any television series EVER. My question, though, has to do with your past work on Malcolm In the Middle. For my money, you and Jane Kaczmarek were two of the best comic actors on any sitcom at the time. Did it ever bother you or Jane that shows like Everyone Loves Raymond got all the attention while you two were usually overlooked.
Thanks for your great work!
Bryan...amazing show.
Here's my question....
What's your favorite cuss word?
Walt and Heisenberg are like Jekyll and Hyde. Yet your transformation is so subtle, yet very distinct. How did you "find" a way to become Heisenberg? Was it difficult to discover what was going to work? It is amazing. No wonder you have two Emmys.
Hey Bryan! I can't beleive I actually have the chance to speak to you! WOW! I stayed up night after night to watch the Season 2 Marathon and I tell yah, It was addicting to watch! My wife actually was wondering what I was doing up so late!
I do have a question for you! For all the lies that you have to tell everyday on the show, do you ever mess with your own family at home? Like jokingly mess with them?
How was the name "Heisenberg" invented?
For me it is fun to think that Heisenberg has something to do with quantum mechanics and the famous Heisenberg uncertainty principle. The scientist Werner Heisenberg said that certain pairs of physical properties cannot both be known to arbitrary precision. So the same way we cannot measure if (and when) Walter is Walter and when he is Heisenberg :D
