I loved that episode the first time around and love it even more seeing it again just now! And I just realized something that had been vaguely floating around in my mind since the first time this episode aired : Walt working compulsively to rid his house of rot was like Lady Macbeth compulsively washing her hands and muttering, "Out damn spot" to try to exorcise her guilt in Shakespeare's "Macbeth!" This show is freakin' brilliant!!!!!
@ rockmama - nice reference.
"Out damn rot!"
For all Walt does for his family, he cannot help as well to ruin it. The rot inside his house is the meth inside his lab and community. The rot is the cancer inside him. The rot inside his home is himself.
Walt is still a teacher so he cannot help but to try to educate an aspiring meth-cook. Till he realizes that would mean one too many cooks, and that would spoil the broth, the meth that is his profit. And loss.
There are so many layers in this episode, in this series. Breaking Bad is so damned good.
AND this episode had semi-nudity (topless Jesse) and possible full nudity (Walt sitting on edge of bed, may have had on undies, but I don't think so).
Scantily clad acteurs always a plus! :-)
This show SUCKS!!! Reminds me of trailer park trash trying to get money. Can't wait until is is taken off the air for a GOOD show.
