Breaking Bad Nets Two Television Critics Association Nominations

The Television Critics Association announced today the nominees for the 2009 TCA Awards, and Breaking Bad has been honored with nominations in the Outstanding Achievement in Drama category as well as the Individual Achievement in Drama category.
Breaking Bad's Emmy-winning star Bryan Cranston will compete against Damages' Glenn Close, House's Hugh Laurie, The Shield's Walton Groggins and AMC's own Jon Hamm (Mad Men) for the Individual award.
In the drama category, Breaking Bad is again up against AMC's Mad Men, in addition to NBC's Friday Night Lights, ABC's Lost and FX's The Shield.
Winners will be announced Sat., Aug. 1 during a ceremony at The Langham Huntington Hotel and Spa in Pasadena, California.

Your only competition in the drama category is ABC's "Lost". Good Luck!
OUTSTANDING! Once again the people that award TV programs awards recognize the Genius behind Breaking Bad and all the talent associated. Congrats to all - AMC
No other competition I see. Man this show is close to home for my past. Love watchin it. We have Brake Bad Parties to watch together. I have not bee so into a TV show since the X files. Long time huh. Please Please Please don't stop. I will go through withdrawls. Can't wait for another season. My friends wish it was a longer season with a 2 hour closer next year. Chills man.

Even though I'm conflicted because I love MadMen, too - Go Get 'Em Breaking Bad! Take all the awards you can get, and also in the ensemble, best lead, supporting and guest-starring categories. They should win for writing, cinematography too!
It doesn't surprise me at all and its well deserved. What would surprise me though is if Aaron Paul wasn't nominated for an Emmy for best supporting actor in a Drama series. Breaking Bad fans have said since the airing of the pilot that Vince Gilligan's Breaking Bad was the best thing on television since Laural & Hardy and Jekyll & Hyde. AMC & Breaking Bad ROCK's the networks...
