Oh crap...I thought it was tomorrow! I have to go to the dentist today!!! Never fear, though, I posted my question already.
I just hope I make it back home in time to participate later!
The fancast chat was pushed to today, DRKellogg. Be sure to pose a few questions for Bryan here -- both before and after the premiere!
Hi Clayton, thanks for the shout-out! I hope lots of fans come by - this show definitely deserves our support!
And DRKellogg, yes, we had to move the chat to today, one of the guys had a conflict for tomorrow - but fyi, the chat remains online even after it's done. If you can't make it at 3 ET/12(PT) and participate live, you can still go to the same link Clayton provided and read it. Just look for the play button and it will unspool as if live.
Cheers,
Jim (for Fancast)
ps. - there's al;so a great interview with Bryan up right now

The chat this afternoon was loads of fun.
Amazing how with the drama of Walter White and Breaking Bad I found I'd nearly forgotten what a funny man Bryan can be.
Charming, interesting AND oh so witty so be sure to work up some great questions guys.
Bryan, do you prefer acting in an episode you directed?
two very important questions: 1. bald or hair? and 2. beard, 'stache, or clean shaven?
please justify your answers :)
Bryan, after being nominated three times for an Emmy as an actor in a comedy series, how does it feel to win one as an actor in a drama series?
Bryan, in the video of your house, you are showing off your very nice motorcycle. Is that a Roadmaster bicycle in the background? Do you ride the bike much?
If you were told you had an arbitrary (yet limited) time left to live, how would you spend your time vs. how your character has so far?
Questions about the show:
!) How has the relationship between Walt and Jesse changed over the past few months?
2) What would be the worst part about Skyler finding out about Walt's secret life?
And, something more personal....
3) Did you have the opportunity when you were filming in New Mexico to explore outside the city of Albuquerque and if so, where did you visit?
Hey Bryan! I live in Albuquerque and love Breaking Bad. It is by far the best thing ever filmed here. How do you like working in NM? By the way, my company donated the porta potties for the security guard scene in Season 1 and an upcoming scene in Season 2! I can't wait to see it!
Hi Bryan!
I think you are a VERY GOOD actor to say the least, and I am really glad you won the Emmy.
I am always curious about "the method" if we can say that, that great artists use for their craft.... your own personal recipe.... Could you tell us a little bit about that?
Do you analyse the script a lot?
Do you rehearse a lot?
Do you think with terms like "goals", "objectives", "obstacles" etc?
Do you use things like "affective memories" etc?
Do you think/dream a lot about your character?
or do you just go for it with no preparation, focusing on moment to moment during the scene?
Thank you
Hello Mr. or Mrs. Cranston. You stepped up your game as a serious actor. "Breaking Bad" is awsome and you were hilarious in "Malcome In The Middle." Any chance of you doing movies, comedies or maybe even stand up?
Dear Bryan,
What's it like to go from acting in such goofy roles as Dr. Tim Watley in "Seinfeld" to taking on such an overwhelmingly dramatic role as Walter White. Also, do you get recognized on the "street" a lot, and do you see yourself more often recognized for your roles in "Seinfeld" and/or "Malcolm in the Middle" or for "Breaking Bad"?
Thanks,
- Dave
What sort of things did you do to prepare for this role? Did you have to learn about chemistry? Meth labs? What it's like to have a terminal illness?
Was this role written specifically for you? I can't imagine anyone else being Walt!
And I think you guys should find some way to get Lois from MITM on the show (can't spell her name to save my life) -- maybe a cameo or a real part? The two of you together in a scene was sheer genius.
The whole cast of BB is so great. Even the annoying DEA brother-in-law is loveable in his own weird way. And Walt Jr. is hilarious - his timing is impeccable! Does he really have CP (if that's what it is)?
Bryan, keep kicking some serious ass and taking names, all in the name of chemistry! We heart you.
Dear Bryan, did you shave your head knowing you would land yourself an Emmy?
WOW Simply amazing! I stayed last night and watch all of Season 1 until 3am and it was great. Bryan Cranston is a Genius! I thought he was funny and a great actor from Malcom in the Middle, but seeing him on this role shows what a genius this guy is. I am not really familiar with AMC shows, except for the horror movies that I like to watch in them but now will defenetly be watching season 2 as this show kicks ass! Keep up the good work Bryan and I hope this shows continues. It was hilarious and so captivating.
Similar to what The X Files has done with it's two major motion pictures, do you believe Breaking Bad has the potential to make it as a feature film? Would you support that or do you believe it should stay a television drama?
Bryan,
I am hotly anticipating the start of the second season and certainly appreciate your dedication to the fans by offering to answer our questions. My entry is twofold: First of all, you share a lot of screen time with Aaron. Did you know each other before your work on Breaking Bad? How has your relationship developed over time, and how has that informed your interaction while filming? Secondly, what is the mood like on set? Do you have fun moments with the cast, or are things always serious? I hope the show's success continues!
First, this performance is pure genius. Do you wish that the plot line didn't have a built in end date based on the terminal illness at its heart? I hope this will give you leverage you can combine with your good eye for the right part to garner more starring roles in brilliant shows and movies. I could have told anyone that you had the brilliance to make this role, but how did the producer/writer think to seek you out and give you this opportunity? Second, is there a petition I can sign demanding they give you a retroactive Emmy for Malcolm in the Middle? Third, I loved the way you managed to pay tribute to the great music of the late 70s while performing a hilarious satire in the Roller Skates episode of MitM. I'll never get over it! Why aren't there more cultural tributes to that great era when I was a child and you were a young adult? The real nature of the era seems lost in cartoonish stereotypes and you make me remember what was good about it. Lastly, were you born that sexy or did you suddenly become smokin' hot at a certain age?
Bryan-
This is not so much a question; rather, it's a comment. I first recognized your propensity for incredible acting when you portrayed the character of Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin in the HBO mini-series 'From The Earth to the Moon'. I just want to let you know that I think your character in this series, 'Breaking Bad' is on that same scale, perhaps better. I don't generally watch television (except for motorcycle racing) but thought you might like to know that I will follow each episode of 'Breaking Bad' just to watch your acting. You make the character of Walt come alive. Congratulations on another epic series!
I'd like to learn more about Walt's background, his nobel prize winning research and the circumstances which lead him to hating his coworkers and accepting a role as an underpaid, under appreciated high school teacher. Any chance these are explored more in the new season?
Howdy from San Antonio! This one's a two-fer:
1-I've recently been seeing more of your work and I gotta say you are quickly becoming one of my favorite actors. Since you've played a variety of characters I have to ask, do you prefer playing serious, more dramatic roles, or comedic roles?
2-Any chance we'll be seeing you on the big screen soon?
hey Bryan just remember its basic chemistry
Hey Bryan,
Congrats on the Emmy! Where do you keep a thing like that?
- Mark from Mobile, Alabama
Hey Bryan,
Love the show. What would be your favorite moment so far?
Thanks in advance,
Mark from Mobile, Alabama
If you were to cast another actor as Walter White, who would they be and why?
How did you like staying in Albuquerque? Did you find a favorite place to eat?
One of my favorite MIM episodes is when you teach Malcplm to rollerblade i still see you as the roller disco king and smile.Your character seems to be developing a very disfunctional father/son relationship with Jesse, how do you feel about the direction your characters are taking? You are amazing,
I was wondering while watching this show how easily it was even for Bryan to get completely lost in his characters struggles? I can't help but just cringe watching a bad situation arise only to watch him solve it with his experience with chemistry for the bad people in his life, or playing a brutally heavy handed cancer card for the good people in his life. The amount of character development Bryan pulls off without even opening his mouth is absurd. I can safely say this is my favorite show ever, and it's Big Wally White
Bryan: Sunday nights are cookin' now! Your portrayal of Walt is just insanely riveting, as is the show. It makes me shiver, wondering just how far supposedly normal, everyday, good people will go to protect and provide for their families. So I wonder: How hard is it for Walt, one of those everyday people, to reconcile having to establish a relationship with the seemingly amoral Tuco? At that point in life and impending death, would most of us even think about lines we wouldn't cross? Thanks!
Bryan,
I think that you're potrayal of this character is the best you've done and rightfully deserved the Emmy win.
Do you believe the quality of writing in the new starter shows (like BB, Life, The Listener, Burn Notice) has improved recently? As a result such shows have been margined out (Eli Stone, Lipstick Jungle and Journeyman). Is it becoming harder to find the niche market that keeps the nation watching.
Have you as an actor thought about what would happen if Walter had time for introspection?
a) What happens when Walter is confronted with how manufacturing meth (although an attempt to help tidy up the mess left by his cancer) is in reality feeding other people’s disease?
b) if Walter beats his cancer, he is still going to face a life time of prison and separation from his family, leave his family hanging, (the same effect death would have).
Hello Bryan,
I'm a french fan of "Breaking bad", and I'm waiting to see the second season of the show.
I just wanted to know if you were in New Orleans, LA, on the first days of january, 2009 ? I'm pretty sure I saw you, but my wife assures I'm wrong.
I should have come to you to ask directly, but I've been shy...
Thank you for your answer I for your shows.
Stephane, Lyon, France.
I hate Tuco! Please, please, please kill him or have him killed or whatever - just get rid of him (please).
Mr. C',
Do you have a personal PUBLIC position on Methamphetamine, I mean, you must have done an exhorbitant amount of research here..
What did you learn about the devestation it causes to families?
NO WAY I'm harshin' on ya man... YOU are pulling off an extremely diffcult role with apparent ease...
Thank you in advance for your attention to my curiosity.
I know it's past the deadline, but I'm asking anyway just in case. Here's a silly question to balance out some of the serious ones above. In Malcolm in the Middle and Breaking Bad, Hal and Walt always somehow manage to run around or get into trouble in their tighty-whiteys. What kind of underwear do you really wear?!
(Unless it's a secret, in which case you can dodge the question by making a joke about it. ;))
Thanks for letting us know about the delay, Clayton. There's hope for me yet!
one how many seasons do think the breaking bad will get?, second how do you think dying will be like?, last if you could get any actor to be able to have on the show you would it (i think a good one would be agelina jolie as the new replacement for tuco)
