Breaking Bad Wins 2 Emmys Including Best Actor for Bryan Cranston

BBadEmmy_560x330.jpg

Breaking Bad won a second Emmy last night and it was a major one at that. Bryan Cranston walked away with the statuette for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series beating out James Spader (Boston Legal), Michael C. Hall (Dexter), Hugh Laurie (House), Gabriel Byrne (In Treatment) and Jon Hamm (Mad Men).

Said Bryan Cranston upon picking up his equally bald statuette, "I guess the restraining order has been lifted," in reference to his first Emmy win after two past nominations.

At last weekend's Creative Arts Emmys Breaking Bad took home its first Emmy when Lynne Willingham won for Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing for a Drama Series. In total, AMC won eight Emmys with Mad Men winning for Outstanding Drama, Writing, Hairstyling, Cinematography, and Title Design. For more on the Mad Men victory, click here.

Yes, Bryan Cranston definitely deserved the Emmy and I'm so glad he got it! It was great to see him get recognition for deftly playing Walter White metamorphosing from mild-mannered teacher to meth-making survivalist. Congratulations and keep up the good work!

I am so thrilled for Bryan Cranston and everyone at the show. I have rooted for Bryan since his brilliant portrayal of the dad on "Malcolm in the Middle." I know his character has a fatal illness, but I hope this show has a long life. I can't wait for season 2!! Congratulations Bryan, and kudos also to the genius writers at Breaking Bad for a great show.

This is great! His work as an actor in Breaking Bad was amazing and it was recognized by others.

Hopefully it will only help the show get bigger and better known :)

Congrats to Bryan Cranston and to all associated to the show who in some way share this Emmy.

Yes, I realize I'm late to this party.

What can I tell you ... I was out celebrating all over the place today.

I'm here now and ready to pop the virtual champagne bottles and celebrate in fine style.

There simply are no words big and bold enough to express my heartfelt CONGRATULATIONS to Mr. Crantson, AMC and every soul who had hand in creating this fantastic character and show.

Cranston's Walter White, an exceptional performance in a top notch show, was so deserving this honor that the smile on my fangirl face has yet to fade nearly 24 hours after the envelope was opened and the name was read.

I was and am a happy little frog who knows its a great day to be a Breaking Bad fan!

Bryan, you are excellent in this show. Congratulations.
I was so happy you got the recognition you
deserve. AMC and Breaking Bad put the main
3 networks to shame, the writing, the acting,
the entire show is great. Way ta' go Bryan.
And way ta' go AMC-(but I like this much
better than Mad Men)

To quote the motto of the elite British Special Air Services (SAS) military force: "Who Dares Wins".

Well done Brian, Lynne and all the others who made it possible. Keep taking chances. We will be watching.
