Win a Winnebago (Toy Model): Week VIII
Here's your chance to be the proud owner of a toy-sized version of Walt's Winnebago. Tell us: Who would you most like to see "break bad" next?Once again, we'll randomly pick a winner from the answers and award a replica of the RV from the show. We're giving away a miniature model every week, so be sure to check back for next week's question. Find out after the jump who our lucky winner was last week.
Question: What would you like to see happen in Season 2?
Lance: "I'd like to add my support for just being satisfied to have a season two. Only seven episodes out of the gate?? What torture for us! I get the feeling it's going to be a long wait :-( If it helps to have additional ideas (like you need more - HA), Walt gradually and consistently gets sicker and Jesse really steps up to the plate. Jesse even goes as far as taking some Community College chemistry without mentioning it to Walt. Jesse doesn't realize that taking chemistry attracts some DEA attention. Walt finds out quite accidentally when Jesse's picture is among several others that are spread out on Hank's kitchen table. Hank causally mentions how dumb these kids are that they register for only a single class - and its chemistry."

Do we know for sure there will be a season two?? I am waiting impatiently for MORE episodes. This is my favorite show and I can't wait to see what's in store. I think it is very likely that Walt's brother-in-law will discover Walt's involvement. It would be hard for me to believe that he would roll over and not only ignore it but also become a partner. But if he were confronted with the reality and planned to turn him in, would Skyler then try to blackmail him with the knowledge that his wife is a shoplifter? Would greed finally overcome his moral objections? You never know. Lots of cops are dirty. I can only imagine Walt's bumbling exacerbates an already complicated conclusion. Surprise me! I'm waiting....
Season 2 will be most welcome in my house. We are all pulling for Walt. Hoping he can get away without more damage to his mental state. A girl friend for Walt Jr. is my vote BTW casting dept note: Dont cast a teenage super model in the roll, we would not buy it! heheee. Love the web site Clayton!
I can take or leave most TV in general, and I wasn't sure about this show at first; but, it's gradually earned my trust. I'll give the writers this: they know, at the minimum, what NOT to do. Every time I think they're going to go wrong -- get too broad, get too action-packed, get too melodramatic, get too slapsticky, get too dull -- they surprise me and veer back the other way. Gilligan's spoken of maintaining a balance and I'm impressed by his success with that, particularly given what an oddball show it is. The only concern I have is with the plausibility level. It doesn't have to be perfect, but Walt's initial barge-in on Tuco (sp?) is so full of holes and dumb luck that it was tough to swallow; yet at the same time, so dramatically satisfying (coming on the tail end of several much more subdued episodes) that I couldn't help but forgive it.
The characters have been handled surprisingly deftly and whatever happens plot-wise, I'd like to see that continue. E.g. just when you think Hank is too broad, and going to be the guy who always puts Walt down, he shows warmth towards Walt as a brother-in-law. Just when you're getting used to him as a big dumb clown, you realize he's actually really good at his job. This sort of thing. The same can be said about all the other characters in different ways: I'm surprised by the growing level of nuance here. The sister-in-law, who originally struck me as a bit of a throw-away, paper-thin character, really bowled me over with her performance in the scene where Skylar confronts her about the shoplifting. The blend of bold, shameless defiance/lying, masking possible kleptomania, combined with that subtly hurt look (that Skylar had returned the gift) -- all being conveyed with very little dialogue to springboard off of -- both the actress and the character I thought ascended to a new level in that scene.
The main thing the show needs to continue doing is that: adding little dabs of increasing complexity to all the characters, all the aspects that make up the show. The slow pace is fine: I just want to continue to be surprised. They don't always have to be big surprises -- aggregate "little suprises" are sometimes more effective. I think this show has struck a good balance between a slow, teasing, deliberate pace -- and still delivering visceral payoff when and where it needs to.
Re: the overall evolution of the show, they've left so many paths open, I can't help but be hungry for more. I found the introduction of Skylar's willingness to be deceptive (and sexual) interesting; maybe there's a tactful way to sweep her into the "bad" along with Walt, discovering his secret but eventually assisting and showing some surprising moxie of her own. Maybe Hank could become a sort of subtle ally in some way, be it explicitly, or (more likely) coincidentally (by giving Walt a backdoor view into the DEA's methods and moves.) The tension between them is perfectly loaded for any number of possibilities.
And of course Jesse is full of potential as Walt's kind of surrogate son/student almost; however, I'd caution the writers not to overdo that. It's one of the easier aspects to foresee, so keep it fresh. It is definitely going to be fun to see some evolution for Jesse, though, as he hopefully comes into his own along with Walt, but in a different way. It would be interesting to see the series end with Walt dying but Jesse being left as a veritable kingpin of the meth world. That's a long, multi-season journey with a lot of byways and potential pitfalls, but gradual, meandering, and unexpected growth for all characters is key. It's what makes this show work.
Best of luck, and please -- bring on Season 2!

PS - I love the guy who plays Tuco (sorry if I'm mispelling that.)
I absolutely loved season one! Who would I like to see break bad next? Well we all know Jesse and Walt have gone far and beyond bad... We also got a glimpse of Hank's wife Marie breaking a little bad herself. I actually thought she was stealing again when she was in that store trying on those earrings. Who I would like to see break bad most would be goody two shoes Skye. She's very concerned and involved in her husbands life. I would be too. Honesty and Trust are important factors in a relationship it just doesn't seem like they have that anymore. I mean what would she do if she found out her husband was cooking meth, or worse lieing to her about where he goes and what he has been doing. Can wait for the next episode...
HANK!
I think Hank's primed and ready to break.
Go ahead big fella, tune out Marie, kick back and put your feet up as you light up one of the cubans and make the choice to go ahead and break bad.
Hank and Marie have something going on that we dont know about. We've seen Marie start breaking bad but i think Hank has some secrets that we have not seen...yet. i just think Hank and Marie might be in on "something" together. they're both goin down!
I just received my "Winnebago (Toy Model) a few minutes ago. Let me tell you first hand...
This thing is awesome! Absolutely a keeper.
I was expecting some toy Ertl or Matchbox Winnebago in a blister pack.
I don't want to spoil the whole surprise if you win one, but it isn't that at all. Its way better. Even the packaging unfolds to become a desert scene.
Very cool - right down to the bullet holes in the door!
Thanks so much AMC & Rainbow
I wanna see walter shoot some meth
First of all I have to say that this is the most awesome show Ive ever seen. I hope after season 2 there is a lot more seasons. I would like to see Hank's wife go down for stealing. She thinks she's untouchable because her husband is a DEA.
