I've always loved Mercury. And now that I know it can be Fulminated...
Not sure if you guys know or not, but check out http://scienceblogs.com/moleculeoftheday/ . A few weeks back, he called attention to this very molecule:

Ah, if only I'd known the simple power of the Etch-a-Sketch...
I usually dislike science but this piqued my curiousity.
I want a Breaking Bad T-Shirt.
Definately the mercury bombt! Not only did we not see it coming, but who knew that it could make an explosion like that. The other two reactions were great too, but I enjoyed that it we were told when Tuco was told, then BOOM, it was cinematic. Big Fan, Thanks!
I didn't expect fulminated mercury to be in the bag when Walt went to Tuco's. What a surprise!!! One of the best new shows on television!!! The characters are memorable, and the writing is top notch.
i have just returned to england from a trip to america and would like to know if this will be aired in the uk as i saw a few episodes while i was out there i would love a t-shirt or a coin or some sort of merchandise ( Please a hope full fan )
Did anyone think Walt was that cool under pressure and confident enough to make the Phosphine Gas? I certainly did not expect that!
I liked the mercury bomb because my husband has warped me over the years to appreciate special effects and action movies and so now I revel in things like explosions...hence the mercury bomb resonated personally with me.
I honestly think that the mercury bomb event was one of the greatest and most unexpected cinematic masterpiece that I have ever witnessed. I love this show, can't wait until the next season!
Holy crap - huge huevos!
Bombing Tuco's headquarters was by far the best. Caught me totally off-guard and I almost fell out of my seat at that ballsy move by Walter. After I picked myself up I lmao! I absolutely love this show!!!! Keep 'em coming!!!
I was wondering how he was going to escape Tuco and get out of that one. Brains over brawn prevails...
Fulminated Mercury (to bomb Tuco's headquarters)
By far the coolest plan to bum rush a major dealer I have ever seen. This show is an instant classic and it is because of scenes like that one. It is difficult to find a movie that can keep me guessing and continuously catches me off guard - let alone a t.v. series! Absolutely AWESOME.... when does the next season start? I am starting to feel like one of their customers must!!!!
The Phosphine gas to escape Emilio and Krazy 8 was the bomb! (No pun intended) Walt was so cool under pressure and kept his wits about him even with two hand cannons pointed at his face. Walt is my new personal hero.
Fulminated Mercury!
It was the same bomb that Ensin Pulver used in Mr Roberts
that movie about WWII! With Henry Fonda

The fulminated Mercury was definitely the most amazing. Seeing it again, so many things could have gone wrong for Walt. If he had been pushed around, let alone punched, he could have easily died. But imagining Tuco crushing a shard to do a bump, only to be blown away, is pretty cool.
But both the fulminated Mercury and the thermite are all the more amazing because Walt actively sought out to do these things. Dumping the Red Phosphorus was the only thing he could do, in his mind, to keep from being killed in the middle of nowhere.
Really, all of them are great because each event marks a big change in Walt's personality. The gas was done out of need, the fulminated Mercury was done out of desperation, and the thermite was done simply for the convenience of not having to gather ten grand.
Another really good chemical reaction was Walt's love life. When you add in the catalysts of terminal cancer and making meth, a disinterested handjob turns into spontaneous parking lot sex.
We humans love things that go BOOM! Where are the BAD tee shirts?
Skinny Mike -- I think you are on to something!
i belive it wa the fulminated mercury, for the fact that when i was talking to my science teacher, he had his own little bit about fulminated mercury. back when he was in colledge he used to cook up fulminated mercury before class in small ammounts, toss it out in the hall so that when people would walk buy they would start explodeing at there feet and it would be so loud it would sound like gunshots. sometimes he would cook it at night and it would go off in the middle of hte night for no reason. sometimes a cleaning lady would even bump it and it would start going off sounding like gunshots- they did not think it was funny to say the least. he now wears two earing aids, one in each ear and he is very bad of hearing, guess one two many explosions?
My favorite chemical device would have to be the mercury bomb. All the chemical things listed were great, but that one was the greatest. It caught me by surprise, and was great thinking of "Walter". This show is the best on right now, has everything needed to please me. And besides, the mercury was the needed fireworks for my birthday!
I got into the show because it interested me. My town is like one big meth lab, no joke. My mom can go around and point out school mates that are now homeless or near homelessness because of the stuff. It is interesting to see the potential risks the cooks take when they cook that crap. This show if a masterpiece. Keep it up Vince and Brian!

I voted in the poll for the "Fulminated Mercury" I thought it definitely had the most entertaining effect for viewers. It actually made Tuco show fear and well the guy doesn't scare very easily as we have seen. That also gave Walt the Power and now he has control. Maybe even unstoppable but we will see what happens in the next season...
I voted for the Fulminated Mercury . I liked it because it was very surprising and very unpredictable . It would have been crazy if Tuco crushed up the Mercury to snort, that would've
had some kick!!!!
Fulminated mercury, hands down. I knew about the other two reactions (and I've had my own Fun With Thermite), but walking in to Tuco's lair with a trick like that deserves respect.
