Yeah the score did surprise me... I was like is that, oh they're using that as a score... will definately be a fan of this show!
I love the first episode and I have had the song "trouble" from the comercials stuck in my head all week. I LOVE IT!
I'd like to know the name / artist of the show-ending song from Episode 2... anyone know ?
The post has been updated with Episode 2 music--enjoy!
Any idea what the hip hop songs playing in the cars in Episode 1 were?
@bobo: There are four hip-hop songs that play throughout the episode, all by a group called Mastersource. The songs are "Cruisin," when Walt is caught by his students cleaning tires, "Dirty South Hustla" when the DEA team busts Capn Cook's meth lab, "A Gosar" when Jesse sells Walt's meth to Krazy 8, and "Get Low," when Jesse, Krazy and Emilio drive up to the RV.
Hope that helps!
@ Matt Verhalen: To be more specific, the song playing at the end of episode 2 is Glen Philips' "The Hole."
Can someone tell me where I can find the rap songs from episode 1? I tried looking up mastersource in just about everything i could think of to find it and none of them came up with anything. Please help me find these songs
@gms: I've spoken to some of the people who handle music on the show. Mastersource is not the name of the rap group--it's the name of the music catalog they used to get the music. I've asked them to get me the names of the actual groups for each of the songs, and will let you all know when I hear back. Sorry for the confusion, and thanks for your patience!!
Love the Darondo song.... like a long lost Al Green classic. Listening to the recent compilation Let My People Go right now, and loving it.
I looked for these songs on itunes and limewire, and i cannot find any of them. What is the song and artist when Skyler finds Jesse's myshout page? and what is the song and artist name when the DEA break into emilio's home?
I looked for these songs on itunes and limewire, and i cannot find any of them. What is the song and artist when Skyler finds Jesse's myshout page? and what is the song and artist name when the DEA break into emilio's home?
@GotPurps: Some of these songs came from a mastersource music catalog, and thus we don't yet have band names. I'm in the process of requesting, but haven't heard back. I can tell you the name of the song when the DEA busts Emilion is "Dirty South Hustla," but I don't know the group.
When Skyler looks at Jesse's website, the song is called "Keep Ballin" by a group called Trump.
Hope that helps. When I get more info, I'll let you know.
Does anybody know the name of the country song playing in the background of the pilot episode during the surprise party? its playing in the background right as skyler is in the kitchen, and walt's brother-in-law is showing off his service firearm.
@Daveb: The artist is Stonewall Jackson, the song is "Come On Home and Have Your Next Affair with Me."
anyone have any idea what the track right at the end of ep 4 is?
@copes: That's Darondo's "Didn't I"
i still cannot find the group name called "Trump" i checked wikipedia, google, youtube, limewire, and itunes and there is no group called trump. can someone help me find the artist name of "Keep Ballin"
@GotPurps: Try this: http://www.datpiff.com/Trump-Hate-It-Or-Get-It-mid9002.html
wow @ that didnt i track, thats some gooood shit.
thanks for the info
I must know the song from the RV scene in episode 5! That was great, reminded me of Hot Chip.
Please, please, please, someone tell me what the name of the great reggae song from episode #1, when Walt is gathering beacons from his classroom and carrying the paraphernalia to his car.
@mona: There are two RV scenes, and two songs.
The first is Fujiya & Miyagi's "Uh"
The second is Dave Porter's "Losing Badger"
@man on bass: The song is called "Mango Walk" by a group called "The In-Crowd"
It was the Fujiya & Miyagi's "Uh". I should have known :) I love them. This has inspired me to download more of their music. Great stuff and great show.
No comments on music. Just sick that you would promote meth like that. I am a parent with a daughter on meth and I don't find it damn funny or entertaining to have someone think they can promote this garbage. I am starting a camapign at this point to have this program taken off the air. You people must be out of your minds to think this is entertainment!!!
It is a shame about your daughter, best wishes. Art has never been universally accepted but thank God we live in a country where it can be expressed freely.
r reilly it's a tv show so just chill out. WHAT IS THE BRAND NAME OF THE YELLOW JACKET JESSE WAS WEARING IN THE BEGINNING OF THE 2ND EPISODE?
r reilly - What surprises me is that you have the time and energy to attack a tv show (that is shown at 10pm on Sunday nights) and organize a campaign, when you have a daughter on meth. Good work. I am sure your hard work with the campaign will really pay off when it helps your daughter kick meth.
You're no doubt blaming her addiction on tv, too.
This is what makes this country so special - anyone has the right to say and think any dumbass thing they want to.
you know r reilly, it's funny but I'm in college and have never done a hard drug in my life, but when I watched Breaking Bad all I wanted to do was smoke meth!! smoke it, snort it, sell it, and ESPECIALLY cook it!! It's just crazy. I always thought meth was a bad thing, but hell, if the guy from Malcolm in the Middle is gonna have something to do with it count me in! I even like to smoke while I watch the show now - it just makes it a little more real, ya know?
What is the song at the very end of ep. 5?
@jnanr: The song is Dave Porter's "Resignation"
@GotPurps: Re: the yellow jacket, I'm trying to find that out for you. I'll post here when I get an answer
Oh shoot, I meant the song at the end of ep. 6.
@jnanr: Hah, no worries. That would be The Silver Seas in "Catch Your Own Train"
I've noticed Paul Rothman's kooky "Scoobidoo Love" has come up a few times on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim promos and series. Hearing it on Breaking Bad had me instantly thinking of the classic Harvey Birdman scene at his 'surprise' execution (video).
I love the fact that you could hear some reggaeton (Latin hip-hop) in Tuco's scene. My brother-in-law works in marketing for some radio stations in Albuquerque, one of which is called Radio Lobo (the lobo is the mascot of the University of NM). Radio Lobo plays Latin hip-hop and I can so imagine Tuco's guys listening to it.
I find the show 1) at times, funny. 2) different. and 3) disturbing. Which for me, wraps up into a great piece of artwork that gives the viewer something out of the ordinary....feeds the brain and makes us think. I love it.
What is the brand name of the yellow jacket that Jesse was wearing in the beginning of the 2nd episode?
What's the name of the song thats playing at tuco's hangout or whatever? It's like reggae with spanish lyrics, i've googled it and haven't found anything. I thaught it might be Jonaty Garcia "Los Pistoleros"
but i googled that and limewire searched it and haven't found anything.
I love the imagery of this show its so just powerfull especially when they cut into song normally pretty indie music for short montages or ending scenes like cancer man and the 6th episode with walt walking towards the camera with action happening behind him and in 6th episode it definetly sent you the message Walt is now 100% bad ass
Just thought i would suggest the song sweetest girl by wyclefe and akon. It just reminds me of this awesome show.
The song that ends the finale is just so right on. Anybody have any idea what the name of the song is? "Who's gonna save my soul now? I'm out of control now". Bluesy. terrific. Artist? Song name anyone?
Harryrme... I'm pretty sure the song at the end of ep 7 was "Whose Gonna Save My Soul" by Gnarls Barkley (from their upcoming album).
wow....this show is to bomb and i can't get any of the music out of my brain....can't wait to see where it goes next seasonnnnnn
WHEN DOES SEASON 2 START? IT'S KILLING ME.
I thought the song "Keep Ballin" on episode 2 was hot. You can check out more of Trump's music on his MySpace page.
what was the song in episode 1 when walt and jesse cook the meth
@teddy: That would be the band Working for a Nuclear Free City's "Dead Fingers"
@Clayton: it turns out that the full title of hte song is "Dead Fingers Talking" you guys left out the last part thought i would let you know :D
Molotov - Apocalypsh*t is f*cking awesome!
More Molotov! And some Cartel De Santa...
does anyone know the song (with the guitar) that plays as the title shows up on the screen ...or even what kind of genre?
The theme is original, composed by Dave Porter.
Hi im from Argentina. This is my email yank0@hotmail.com
does anyone can send me this songs?
please please please i cant found nothing
Juliana C SMOKE YOURSELF TO AN OBLIVIAN Sweet heart. While your at it why dont you just disconnect your phone close your windows leave one slat open on your blinds and call your friends and tell em the mother fucker across the street is watching you and that see cop lights flashing and you think there after you better yet stick a I LOVE METH STICKER TO YOUR FOREHEAD and ask your local druggy if you can make a run for em. I am sure idiots are lined up on the street looking for more dumb fucks just like you. Better yet just tell em youd be the best candidate to go to the store since you have a cold and hey make sure you tell the pharmacy you understand the regulations of the Meth Watch but you really dont smoke the shit and need some meds to fix your illness. Hope you have fun watching and smoking your life to death. When your done if your not dead please update everyone and tell em how ate up you are.... Dont forget dont fall out typing. Remember if you are paranoid let the little voice inside your head guide you and if you are scared of them hide under your bed.
P.S. I feel sorry for you...Oh my god everyone else is doing it so you think you should just jump right in. That's why idiots like you shouldn't watch the show!
ok well that is my sister (above) she still hasent gave the show a chance(although funny as a mofo, she speaks from PAST experince) I think the show is the best ive ever seen.It touches me in soo many areas of life and is realy emotional.I personnally think Jessi is fine as hell, but whats with the "signature dash of chilli P" now that is funny! All I know is I hope they dont get busted this next season,I feel like I know them!Am I crazy??? or am I just 8up???
Past experiance with fellow tweekers makes it just enough to make a mother fucker want to fuck with people ya know it all boils down to laughing when you put a ipod earbud on your shirt and walk into someones house you dont know and look down at it and say "we gotta 45 on %%%%% drive or better yet look at the person next to you and blurt out a random number and it just happens to be someones social as the run out of the house paranoid. Just funny to watch 8 up mother fuckers get all gacked out on jokes. Poor bastards could never stay high with someone around them fucking with em all the time. LOL!!! Resenting my past always thinking about stupid ass tweakers cutting out pieces of there blinds to have a good view of the neighbors house PRICELESS!
I dont watch this show so thats all i have to say
r reilly Stay Strong! I do think this show is attracting youth to bad ideas... Society is fucked up enough no help is needed....
I have a project for my fellow Breaking Bad fans.
My favorite band is called Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers or RCPM for short. Anyway they have this song called "State of the art" I think this song would go great on the show somewhere. So here is the project, go to http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=34897860 and check out the song I'm talking about. And post back here so I can have my thrill of my fav band and my fav show together.
Season 2, episode "Flight 1", scene in japanese restaurant: What was that song? Name and performer, anyone?
I'm looking for the song in season 1 episode 3 when Jesse comes back home and find his house empty (about the 40th minute). It's a slow, ambient song.
Thanks
This message is for Clayton Newman, you mentioned a song titled, "Cruisin," as being the song played in Ep. 1 during the wheel washing scene. Do you know the artist? Also, can anyone tell me the name of the song (and artist) played during a later episode when Jesse was bouncing around selling a later batch of meth. It was a very airy, pop tune. Thanks
I have discovered the answer to the second question--Paul Rothman - It's Such a Good Night (Scoobidoo Love)--but does anyone have any information on "Cruisin?" Thank you
I can't get 'Into the Night" out of my head since I watched episode 4...
metal-Neither can I! It's a great song! :)
I would also like to know, just like 'skrika' above, what is the song at the end of episode 3 season 1? It plays into the credits.
In case anyone was curious - The band used for the commercial spot for season 2 is The Knew. (www.theknew.com)
Break bad some Music CD's.. So I don't have to dig around to find all the songs and make my own..
www.pandora.com doesn't have a lot of the artist that you have used... (I'll save you time from looking there.. )
Killer show.. Good tunes.. Thanks..
it brings back memories from my prior life..
To Whom It May Concern,
Have you guys stopped posting the music from each episode? Usually, you update the next day following the episode. I was just curious. Thank you, and, if you are on vacation, have a good one, but please come back soon to update the music information. Take care.
We apologize for the delay in posting Episode 7's music info. The post has been updated.
Thank you, Mr. Neuman. Great job, as usual!
baddestbtch,
Jessie is hella fine isn't he.
Hey Guys. Any Idea when the Music for Episode 9 will be posted. Thanks a Bunch and keep up the good work on the show.

Who sings the song at the end of Season 2 Episode 10 when Walt is telling competition to get off his turf in the parking lot of the hardware store?"
I am SO curious to know! That song sounded amazing... I just watched the episode and would love to know as well.
I got it: TV on the Radio -"DLZ"
TV on the Radio - DLZ frickin rocks!! had to look it up after watching epi 10. Heisenberg Lives!!!!!!!!!!!
yes, i agree....DLZ will be/is a classic sound for all we "breaking bad" junkie's...let's enjoy all we can get out of this great show!!!
@ Clayton, how do they choose the music for the show? And do you know if they are into Indie artists? Thanx in advanced.
Clayton Which song in "Mandala" was Jesse's heroin high? Enchanted? It was quite beautiful.
Clayton Another dumb question. Out of curiosity, has AMC ever put out a soundtrack CD for either Breaking Bad or MadMen? I know it's been done for other television series, and I've loved the music on both shows. Any chance of that or is it too costly?
"Chocolate Genies" SB "Chocolate Genius."
I have researched all of the above music and have found little or no information regarding several of these tracks. Does anyone have any information on the following:
